We ordered take out because we came pretty late and didn’t want to be those people. The person helping us spoke perfect english idk what the other reviews are talking about. She was very nice and accommodating, the atmosphere is great, felt like a hole in the wall kind of place. We ordered birria tacos, thats what we had an issue with they are salty, the meat looks like it was mixed with ground beef instead of being pulled? I understand we came very late so were probably getting the last bit of it but the way its tooo salty. Forgot our mixed veg as well but its not a big deal, its the end of the night and theyve been working all day. I say give the place a shot but maybe not the birria tacos

We’ve gone here once a month for awhile now. The food used to be amazing, the margaritas were wonderful with ample tequila, the service was always great, and I absolutely fell in LOVE with their coleslaw and tortilla chips. We would drive 35 minutes from our house to go to this restaurant each month to meet friends.
But over the last 6 months I’ve noticed it all declining. Poorer service, (the server forgetting to bring is things we asked for, needing to be prompted 3-4 times, bringing us the wrong food orders, no soda refills unless prompted multiple times as well, not clearing the dishes off the table, etc.
And then 2 months ago the menu changed. It’s a really poor design, hard to read, no description of the food items so you don’t know what actually comes on anything, and they put the appetizers on a completely separate menu- that the server forgot to give us both times. We had to specifically ask for the appetizers menu each time.
Additionally the food quality went waaaay downhill, simultaneously with the menu update. The chicken quesadillas appetizer was dry and bland (that used to be one of my favorite items on the menu) the rice was dry, various other menu items were either overcooked or undercooked., and the mole sauce (one of the best mole sauces I’ve ever had) was suddenly bland, tasted different, and arrived on the enchilada dried out with a crust over it, like they had left it sit under the heat lamps in the kitchen too long.
And the music issue. OMG, the music. Each time we went the music kept getting louder and louder. I mean, the music used to be a little loud, but it was nice traditional Mexican music, and I liked it. But each month we went back the music got louder and LOUDER, and it got to the point where I couldn’t even have a conversation with my friends sitting right across the table from me- I couldn’t hear them over the music! Then, this past month they were BLASTING bad rap music- it wasn’t even good rap music, but really bad rap music- I mean, ABSOLUTELY BLASTING IT at SUCH an INSANELY loud volume that I couldn’t even think while trying to read the menu and order. I asked the server to turn it down, and they did for about 2 minutes, and then turned it right back up. I asked them if they could turn it down again and they ignored me. It was SO LOUD, and it was completely pointless to be there. Not only could I not have a conversation with my friends because I couldn’t hear them over the music, but I was horrendously overstimulated, and left with a terrible headache that took me a couple of hours to get rid of. NOT WORTH IT. NOT AT ALL.

The food is horrible the manager is rude they do not understand English and they refuse to refund the food. The female manager who would not give her name said oh that happens with tacos when we serve them like that because they start hard and then they turn wet and soggy and that we could make them with separate ingredients so that you can make your tacos yourself off site…. And the guacamole you ordered was not the appetizer and that we got what they call fresh guacamole and yet it looks like garbage as you can see in the photograph complete mush everything. Don’t take my word for it look at these pictures do not eat here this is a bad bad bad bad bad place.

I got the mama mia burger and skittles margarita and this place is awesome I enjoyed the vibes and drinks were amazing and strong this place is a hidden gem I’m glad we found and we will definitely be back ♀️ This has now become my go to place I just love everyone there and the food is always on point!!! Just visited again for Valentine’s Day and was not disappointed by the platter we ordered it was enough for two with plenty of flavor the only thing I would say is maybe replace the cheese on the platter with something else

I recently moved to the area within the last year, I drive by this restaurant all the time and since the day I tried it for the first time, I have to admit I come at least one to two times a week…. I love authentic food, and I usually struggle with trying out Mexican restaurants specifically because I always feel like the quality of the meat is not good, not portion well, or the quality or seasoning is not up to par in my opinion. I have to say they totally reeled me in with the quality of the meat alone on top of the fact that their service is absolutely immaculate. I always say to my friends and family that I bring here with me that I swear I receive my meal faster than I would waiting in a McDonald’s line. The food is always fresh and they are always efficient with their service. It is very disheartening to me to see all the comments saying that they don’t understand English or this that in the third to me it sounds racist. I will say they have very strong accents, but it is not hard to understand them and they are very kind People … sometimes I won’t understand something that they say so I will ask them again and they have no problem repeating themselves. they have always been extremely accommodating to me and my family, they always spoil my little boy and give him free chocolate milks here and there or even a free dessert here in there and I’m not saying this to go up there and expect anything free, but what I am saying is that they are very kind hearted people and the staff here do genuinely care about their customers. I highly recommend eating here., as it might seem like a smaller restaurant, but the quality of the food is better than any kind of Cozumel you can go to.
