“Great vibe, but service needs backup!”
Uptown Social has a fun, high-energy atmosphere that makes it a solid choice if you’re looking to hang out and soak in the Charleston nightlife. The music was upbeat, the crowd was lively, and the space had that casual party vibe that’s perfect for a weekend out.
That said, service was really slow when we went—only one server seemed to be covering the whole floor, which definitely affected wait times. Didn’t try the drinks this time, but the menu looked good and reasonably priced for the area.
Still giving it 4 stars because the overall vibe and ambiance delivered. Just hope they have more staff next time—this place deserves smoother service to match its scene.
Her personality is infectious; she made our group feel like regulars, checked in at just the right times, and even joined in on a quick laugh when we were joking around.
If you’re heading to King Street, ask for Francis, you won’t regret it! She’s a total gem and a big reason we’ll be back again and again. Highly recommend! ✨
Happened to me 3 times in one night, and the “door manager” offered to give me a free drink?!?!.
I was done with the night and tried to talk to the “door manager” and when i suggested that their barbacks make rational decisions about the drinks they pick up, it got nowhere. When i tried to suggest they try and teach the employees to better pick EMPTY cups instead of half empty cups, the local cops at the door told me to leave.
They know what they’re doing and they wont correct this action, making people buy more drinks.
We stopped in around 1:00 for lunch and to watch a game on 1/2/26. TV’s ok but no sound, just bar music. Worst part was the waitress. She seemed to have an attitude when we sat down as she slammed the menus and silverware down on the table. Finally came back to take our order. First drink of coke was 80 % ice and 2 sips of coke. The drink with alcohol was so weak my wife had to ask for a shot to add to it. I don’t drink and I could only taste the soda water in it. Back to the waitress….. no follow-up , my wife had to get up and go to the bar to get a refill on my coke. Why????, because the waitress was sitting at the end of the bar on her iPad paying no attention to the restaurant. When she finally noticed we were watching her, she got up and went to the kitchen to get our food (15-20 minutes after we placed our order). I was going to leave but my wife said no. The food was decent, but again we had to go to the bartender for a refill as this waitress was again sitting at the bar on her red or pink iPad. I mentioned the color so the management will know who I’m taking about if they even read this. When she saw my wife at the bar again she jumped up and tried to do her job. I’ve already wasted too much of my time writing this review but future patrons need to know what they are getting when they enter this establishment. My suggestion is pass it up and go somewhere else. As for the management, you need to review your waitstaff and let this iPad waitress surf the web somewhere else and not at your bar when patrons are sitting waiting on her to do her job. This is our last time to walk through your doors. You probably don’t care but you should. For a Friday afternoon we were only 2 of 10 customers in your establishment.
