The crew working on 11/24/2025, may just be the best crew working. Plain and simple. I’ve been here plenty of times. Always great, but today, I belive they may have made the best batch of tenders I’ve tasted in my 6 years living in pflugerville. Fresh and delicious, my combo stood no chance. only second time dinning, never going back because the inconsistency was too drastic. first visit was amazing, I waited happily and patiently. Everything was freshly fried and cost worthy portions for the 6p tenders combo, I even doubled back for wicked wings. this visit I paid $18 for almost a quarter of a fillet of catfish cut into four strips served luke warm, with old fries, and tough roll .79 cents for honey mustard in a ramekin half filled took less than 30 seconds to fulfil the order I asked out a promo they didn’t honor it and I asked if they were sure my order was made properly that quickly, they reassured me and still for tarter and hot sauce.

First time visiting Golden Chick after years. The chicken tender meal was really good and filling. The tenders were fresh, crispy, and decent size. Also tried the wicked wings which had plenty of meat and a nice cover on them.

I came through and ordered a catfish meal. I drove all the way home to realize they gave me CHICKEN. Why would you do that. I would give them zero stars if I could. I ended up paying $20 for 2 pieces of chicken with fries and a sweet tea. I feel cheated.

Went to try their tenders combo today with jalapeno bombers/poppers. Being next door to Pflugerville High School, noon wouldn’t be an ideal time to drop in, the service was a bit chaotic due to being busy. The interior is a tad small, a bit difficult to get a table but we got lucky to beat other patrons to a recently vacated table.
The tenders we okay albeit smaller than servings compared to comparable chicken fastfood restaurants. Their gravy is a bit watery and a tad bland. Their ranch dressing was delicious, though. The jalapeno bombers/poppers were gooooood – I’d recommend them.

Okay so Golden Chick’s Wicked Wings are beYOND delicious, hands probably the best I’m the fast food BUSINESS! If you love Juicy, spicey crispy wings, GO HERE!
Now for this particular restaurant, reason for the 3 stars in service is because of the wait due to the lack of employee. May not be exactly there fault but atleast keeping someone in the front so they can take orders and not have customers waiting for literally 5 to 10 minutes just place an order.. I haven’t yet experienced that in other well functioning restaurants that also lacking employees.
The place is remodeled and looks and feels great! Country music, so just a heads up if you are choosing to eat inside and don’t like that style. Though I find it fitting for Texas! Lol
Price has gone up on foods, but only due to the times not greed, because it is still not alot. You’re talking for two people about 25$.
I’d give it $/$ (one full $ and a half $)

The employees were nice, helpful, friendly. We didn’t have a long wait, but I won’t be back because the food made everyone sick. We were moving and thought this would be a good idea. The food looked and tasted good, but everyone got sick. Not sure if it was the chicken or the sides, but when you’re moving, you spend a lot of money and this was money wasted at a inconvenient time.
