I really liked this place. The staff was kind and friendly, the food was delicious, and it came quickly and was hot! I got the tenderloin they are famous for and WOW! Delicious! Also the portions were very large, so definetly go here hungry! Plenty of seating and i loved the decorations on the wall. All in all a really cool place to visit.

I was looking for a good tenderloin sandwich while traveling. A friend told me to try this place, so I called in a to-go order from the road. Their ended up being a little bit of a misunderstanding, but that was my fault. The tenderloin sandwich is gigantic! It was really tasty. Recommend stopping if you’re in the area.

We stopped by Nick’s to try a pork tenderloin sandwich at the very place where it was born, and it did not disappoint! The tenderloin was perfectly cooked: crispy and crunchy on the outside, yet moist and tender on the inside. Nick’s absolutely nails it.
We decided to share the sandwich and also sampled the onion rings, fried mushrooms, and French fries—all golden, fresh, and flavorful. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the pie flight, which that day featured peanut butter, buckeye, and sugar crème pies. Each one was a slice of pure comfort.
The service was warm and friendly, and the food was fantastic. This is one of those meals worth planning a return trip for—I’d gladly give up another precious vacation meal just to eat here again!

This was on my mom bucket list because of the Diners, drive-ins and dives show. I had other business after but well worth the drive from Ft Wayne or another neighboring village, town, city! Great food and great staff, looking forward to my next visit.

Loved the vibe and food is good. However the prices are kinda weird, my bf ordered a hamburger which was $15 w two sides, standard, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered a waffle which was $9?? Most places charge $4.99-$5.99. It wasn’t huge, like I expected, and you didn’t get a side with it. But on top of that, it’s $1.50 for topping! So by the end, you’re paying $10.50 for a small waffle. ↕️ I’m sorry but that’s absolutely crazy.
Also the service was okay, never got a refill on my coffee until the bill came and I had to ask. Just a pet-peeve of mine.
Food was good, just leaving this review because personally I’d want to know in advance about crazy waffle prices.

I only gave it one star because it was closed when we got there for lunch.. We checked the web just before we left on our hour and half drive, for hours & days open. When we got there, local ppl were as surprised as we were that it was closed for that day. No reason or apologies posted. Advice to call ahead and see if open. Too bad because it has ratings for the best pork tenderloin and our mouth was watering.

We took a trip up to Shipshewana, IN, to see their town lighting for Christmas and discovered Nick’s Kitchen. We love food, and we love history, so to find out this place is where the original breaded pork tenderloin was born, we had to eat here. The pork tenderloin sandwich was juicy and seasoned well. I like that it was crispy and not overdone. We also got the tenderloin biscuit with gravy. It was delicious and hearty. The pies were fantastic. We loved the sugar cream pie and got a piece to go. Well worth the trip for some early Christmas lights and good ol’ American food the Hoosier way.

Enjoy your lunch with a side of cockroaches. This place is disgusting. Roaches walking all over the bathroom. Dead roaches in the dining room. Left there all day. REPORTED.

I’ve been to Nick’s Kitchen many times before as a Huntington Native. But this time felt a little different since I’ve moved away and was visiting.
We had almost no wait to be seated, which was nice because they were busy. We did wait a little while to have our drink orders and food orders taken, but our waiter apologized and was vocal about the delay, and we could tell they were busy.
Our food came out after another long wait, and our waiter apologized again, this time obviously on behalf of the cooks. The food was good, waffle for my son, gravy and potatoes for myself, and the famous pork tenderloin for my fiancé.
We ordered a slice of pie at the end of the meal, Suger cream. It was pretty good as well.
I think the thing that really brought Nick’s to a 5 star rating today wasn’t the food, but the staff for being professional and caring.

What can you say about the original. Lives up to reputation. Was worried when the tenderloin was thin it would be dry but it was far from it. Super moist. We also had the tenderloin biscuit which has gravy and that was amazing as well.
