Food of CT
My fiancé and I visited Toro Azteca for an early lunch on a Sunday, and we were impressed at how busy the restaurant was already! Even so, the staff did a great job of bringing out our food very quickly. The menu was HUGE and there were so many good choices! We started off with the table side guac, which was good, but a bit too salty for our liking. The Valentine’s fishbowl special was so adorable and tasted very good! The birria tacos were good, and so was the piña festival de La mar, which I thought was a very creative dish. For dessert, we had the churros and the tres leches. The churros were good, but I felt the tres leches was dry, especially towards the top of the cake. It was very nicely decorated inside and is definitely a great place to dine when visiting the Buckland Hills mall!

We are huge fans of Mexican/Texas food so we were really eager to try this place out. The location isn’t great if the mall is busy but if you can find a close spot, it shouldn’t be too big of a hindrance.
First off, the portions feel pretty generous. 3 packed enchiladas for 15 bucks is hard to argue with. The tacos and quesedillas feel pretty fair for the price as well.
Enchiladas have been my favorite food since college so I was eager to try a bunch of different kinds.
The sauce I liked the most was the San Antonio sauce. It was creamy, unique, and had a nice kick. The meats in the San Antonio felt a little inconsistent cook wise and I don’t think shrimp, steak, and chicken all together is for me.
The more traditional enchiladas are all really quite nice. I did find the amount of sour cream too much for me but that is simply personal preference.
I have no complaints about the tacos or burritos, they were good. The fish and corn tacos were my personal favorite of the bunch.
My wife loves al pastor tacos and also ordered the quesedillas al pastor. The meat was really nice but the cheese was almost completely absent so it fell apart when trying to eat it. But again, the flavor was good.
The rice is good enough for the side though I found the beans to be very watery.
I think from now on I will stick to the enchiladas which I thought were pretty good and definitely worth coming back for.

I came here to enjoy happy hour with a friend on Tuesday after work. It’s really nice that the happy hour goes all the way to 7:00 p.m. since a lot of places nearby are only till 6:00. They had three wines available for happy hour a Chardonnay, Moscato, and a Malbec. They were a pretty good deal for the price as was the beer. They had a lot of options on the happy hour food menu and the bartender was quick to help us. Overall it was a good time and it wasn’t too busy. I’d recommend coming in especially for happy hour.

This place was hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had. There were so many options but we settled on the tropical taco with shrimp, beef and chicken empanadas, the Texas fajita and sweet plantains. I’m not even a margarita drinker, but their margaritas were delicious! I’d recommend this place to anyone who loves amazing Mexican food and for those who don’t like Mexican food to try it and will leave loving Mexican food!

There is zero chance these good reviews are real. This was the absolute WORST dining experience I’ve had in as long as I can remember. Waitress got 3 out of 4 meals incorrect and then argued with us about what we ordered. Food was mediocre at best. I was served a cold cheese enchilada – see pic…the cheese is not melted at all…but the best part is that the manager actually tried to tell me they purposely serve their enchiladas with a cold filling. Can’t make it up. Fountain drinks are supposed to be free with kids meals, we were charged. After complaining, the manager took off my meal and another meal that wasn’t correct either…but here’s the icing on the cake. He then tipped his waitress FORTY PERCENT before giving us our checks. (We split the bill 2 ways…my receipt shows 50% next to each item because that was my half…my friend’s receipt is there too. $20 tip added to each of our $50 checks.)

Omg! Love for this place! I cannot even stress upon how good of an experience I had at this place. Let’s just say in our NYC trip this was the highlight of my trip. Mariachi band was great! Super entertaining for everyone. Our server, Tico was fantastic too! If you go there ask for him. I requested for roasted veggies and he got me that inspite of it not being on the menu explicitly. Hats of to the chef who made it super delicious! Another shout out to the bartender. Who made us beautiful and delicious drinks! Must go!

This restaurant is inside the Buckland mall. The food was not as good as it used to be. The shrimps were so salty. They also had no salad dressing, besides ranch?I hate ranch, The drinks were not bad,but nothing to rave about, same garnish used in every drink. This used to be my go-to Mexican spot. Times have changed. Since moving to Buckland, it’s a miss or miss, noo hit..

Food was not bad at all and the service was good as well! It’s close to work so If I’m in the mood for some tacos and some margaritas/beer than this is the spot for me! Wish the salsa for the tacos had more flavor but other than that I will be coming often when I have the time !
