Went in for a sandwich while the missus was across the street at the dentist. The lad and lass behind the counter were lovely as the day is long. Kind, down to earth, and polite. I ordered a small Spicy Chicken sub and it was absolutely phenomenal. In standard American fashion, the portion was massive. The sandwich was put together with care and looked nearly as good as it tasted. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone. If I ever come back to this country, I’ll be sure to stop in and get another feed.

Absolutely amazing subs! I have been going to Big Daddy’s Subs for over 30 years so when I heard it was under new ownership I was a bit nervous. I stopped in this week as I always do when visiting the area and I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner and was pleasantly surprised on their vision for this classic piece of history in Rome NY. Keeping the classic recipes, adding homemade soups, adding new subs, and credit card processing. Big Daddy’s got an upgrade with the new owners and I’m sure they will be here for a long time keeping the nostalgic memories.

17 years ago my then bf, now husband brought me to meet his family here in Rome and brought me to places that was part of his childhood. Big Daddy’s was part of it…. A Reuben and a blackraspberry milkshake was his go to. Tried it 17 years ago, and every time we come and visit family, we make sure to stop by and grab a quick bite. Now that me and my husband have 2 kids, they know that when we are in town, that we need to stop by. Last week was our first since the new ownership. So happy that they take cards and nothing has changed with the quality and taste of their food. More so, my kids are at the age where they look forward to coming to Big Daddy’s not just because their dad loves it, but because its a tradition that we have established. Congratulations Mark and Sheena. Looking forward to many years of continuing this family tradition and to Big Daddy’s success!

Huge improvement with the new owners. I’ve been coming to Big Daddy’s for probably 15 years now and it has been sad to see it go downhill, but today I went in and had a great experience. Everyone was super friendly, and a large sub was only $15 – the sandwich in my photo is just Half of what I got for that price. Everything tasted fresh and the sandwich had plenty on it. I got takeout but the interior was bright and well-decorated with clear screens for the menu. Big Daddy’s is once again able to hold their own among the other great sub shops in Rome. Best part – you can pay with card now! We just need to get Tony’s on board and you can finally live cashless in Rome.

I ordered a large turkey and a large BLT. Both sandwiches could use more meat. My turkey sub had 2 thinly sliced pieces of turkey on each side of the large sub. For $16? The BLT was okay for the most part, once you pulled off the extra breading. People were very friendly and welcoming though

Came here with a friend just because of the name, was great to meet the owners and the sandwiches were excellent! Fueled us up for our trip back to college, plus had food left over for dinner. Would recommend!

I’ve always loved the bread used at Big Daddy’s but the quality of the remainder of the sub is not what it used to be. The tomatoes are so thin they may as well not have used them at all. On my large roast beef I got 2 maybe 3 pieces of thin dark meat (definitely no rare). I asked for extra cheese and I didn’t get any, I had to add my own when I got home.
My wife orders a toasted ham and cheese and the amount of time it was toasted didn’t even melt the cheese.
We all know that prices everywhere are increasing for everything however, if I’m going to pay the price I expect the quality.

Ordered large Ruby Ds and Chicken Bacon Ranch, not only delicious but each was enough for a second meal! There was no hiding of the meat, if anything the meat dwarfed the bread!
