Fine dining in a relaxed, rustic setting is what Pine Barn Inn’s restaurant near Geisinger Hospital is all about. We serve appetizing breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus—including weekday specials and special holiday buffets—throughout the year. Our covered outdoor terrace is an excellent spot to savor a delicious meal while enjoying the fresh air.

The restaurant was beautiful. The staff was very nice and professional. I don’t remember a time when every Person in a group disliked their food before tonight. I Ordered crabcakes. They came with parsnips as a side as well as a baked potato, which was Not cooked thoroughly. Neither tasted good. My son ordered meatloaf. They put cheese on it and then mashed potatoes on top. The mashed potatoes were OK the meatloaf he couldn’t eat it and When I tasted it, I thought it was literally Gross the third person in our party had chicken fingers which he said were OK they were the best of the three meals The desserts we had, though were delicious.

We were with a large group. Waitress was very good. Everyone was served basically together. Omelet was good. Somewhat loud but they had us separated from the main dining area pretty nicely.

I dined here on 2/25. During the meal I found a hair in my salad. I brought it to the waitress’s attention and was told, “I’ll let them know.” No manager came to the table and the item remained on the bill without any follow-up.
I understand that things can happen, but I expected a bit more care in addressing it, especially given the overall cost of the meal. The lack of acknowledgment was disappointing.
Hoping this was just an off night.

We drove through Danville on our way home and wanted to try something different for lunch. We almost didn’t stop here because the most recent reviews weren’t great. The outside entrance also doesn’t make it obvious where to go to get to the restaurant. But we found it, and a friendly hostess immediately greeted us and walked us to a table. Our server, Shelby, was wonderful! We soon realized that she was handling all the tables by herself. It was busy, and she was doing an amazing job. We never felt forgotten. Plus, our food was delicious and reasonably priced. My husband raved about his smoked brisket melt with fries! He also ordered coconut cream pie and loved that too. We had an enjoyable time, and I would absolutely return if ever back in the area.

An excellent experience, and it was at lunch. Could only imagine dinner or a special occasion. Service was top notch, classy and sophisticated. Quick but not rushed. Food was presented as one would experience in a big city 5 star restaurant. Unique and cultured yet down-to-earth and surprisingly comfortable and not intimidating. Price was surprisingly affordable. Highly Recommended.

We had a great time! Had our parents 25th Anniversary in a ballroom with Tavern access. The food was excellent. It was very quiet. I just wish there was more convenient parking.

Has become one of my go to stops when I’m staying in Danville. During warmer months you can sit outside on a beautiful patio, and when it gets colder, inside next to a roaring fireplace in an old fashioned tavern. We usually make it a tradition to stop in for their weekend brunch! It’s always an excellent way to start the day.

This is not the review I was hoping to write. We have stayed at the Pine Barn Inn several times over the last 10 years or so. We like staying here when we attend the LLWS. The food had always been good when we stayed previously. We are taking our son back to PSU and decided to break up the trip by staying a night at the Inn. We arrived a little after 6, after checking in we went straight to the restaurant. A very nice hostess greeted us and sat us immediately. Our waiter came over a short time later and took our drink and dinner order. We started with the pretzel and mozzarella sticks. The pretzel was delicious with the mustard served with it. The mozzarella sticks tasted “institutional”. My wife ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad with a side of French Onion soup. The chicken tasted like it was boiled, the salad itself was fine. I had the salmon which was just okay. The sides were very bland. I also tried the French onion soup and it was not good. It was both bland and there was kind of an off putting taste to it. My son had a brisket sandwich and he too thought it was bland and not that good. This was not a cheap meal, we spent over $100 on the three of us not including tip. I did mention the issues with the food to our server as well as the manager. My wife barely touched her salad but there was no offer to remove it. I went into detail the issues we had with the meal, if I was the manager I would have made things right but that wasn’t the impetus of me letting them know the issues. The staff is not the issue, the atmosphere is not the issue…The food just isn’t good. My wife made the analogy of the food tasting like nursing home food…

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to! The atmosphere reminded me of a ski lodge, especially next to this beautiful fire place. The mimosas were fantastic. I will definitely be returning here for another brunch!

Gyro was terrible. It was made with coarsely ground meat which was a mixture of lamb and beef. Not sure if it was the meat or it was how it was spiced but it had an off putting taste. The gyro was a special.
My wife had the strip steak that came with spinach and gnocchi. The steak tasted good, but the was a LOT of fat on it that should not have been served to a customer. The gnocchi was nice and soft but not mushy.
The French onion soup was great!
This visit was not as good as our first visit here.
