My husband had just had hip replacement surgery in Wichita and I was starving. Panera was just a couple of blocks away so I drove over there as quickly as possible. I ordered both of us soup and sandwiches and the food was delicious and filling. Fell asleep shortly after dinner in the hospital room and didn’t hear a thing until 10am the next morning. Their food always seems to be really great!

I overheard the manager/supervisor RACHEL 9/30/2025 talking to a new employee about how to keep the place clean and customers pleased while at Panera. I cannot state enough how professional and appropriate she was while talking to the new employee!! She was not condescending and explained duties and expectations better than some CEOs of companies I have heard give speeches.
If the store owner/franchise representatives read this review, do what you can to grow and keep employees like Rachel around.

The soups are unsurpassed. I can’t possibly duplicate the recipe and flavor. Their Autumn Squash has been magnificent ! Just wish it was offered year round. My husband says their tomato soup is the closest to what he had in Scotland that he really loved. We get it all the time!

I’ve only heard about this place from the Show “BigMouth” …there ain’t no magicians but that bread is so magically fresh I came back the next day and ordered a whole roll. That crust on the loaf was tough and perfect! Will be back for more whenever I return to Wichita.

Panera Bread has entered the chicken sandwich war that’s been going on in fast food and now fast casual since 2019 and they’ve brought a couple of pretty formidable sandwiches to the battle. I tried the Signature Take Chef’s Chicken Sandwich. Featuring seasoned, seared chicken, a garlic aioli and Parmesan crisps with greens served on a Brioche roll, it’s a good sandwich. Sadly, it was under-dressed, they were light handed with the garlic aioli, I didn’t get Parmesan crisps in every bite and the roll needs to be toasted to put this sandwich into the 5 star category.

Kind of a bougie place. Food is so-so. They don’t clean well-bathrooms often have no paper. They run out of certain items. Definitely not a place for a large family.

This is a great place to have a work session going with a group or just have some breakfast and coffee while doing some work on your computer. WiFi is pretty good, and less crowded around 8-9am. The food is undoubtedly delicious. Staff is very friendly and eager to help. Parking was very generous despite the fact that getting in and out of rock road could be a hassle.

I ordered from the app for carside pick-up. I learned that you must wait 5 min or so after ordering before hitting the “I’m here” button on the app, or else they never get the alert. I ordered while in the parking lot, so I touched it immediately after I ordered. Unfortunately, since I pushed it too early, I waited over 50 min before realizing that they either didn’t receive my order or didn’t know I was waiting. I called, and the manager said they didn’t get the alert that I was there, but the manager kindly made fresh food for me. The manager (I believe it was the same person) was wearing a mask when delivering my food to my car.
COVID-19 procedures seem ok. I only went into the foyer-type area, so I may have missed it, but there didn’t seem to be any tables marked off for social distancing. There were signs requesting masks and talking of the cleaning procedures. There were also stickers on the floor for social distancing while in line to order. I’ve seen more thorough social distancing procedures in place at other businesses.
