From the phone call itself, the service stood out. The staff took the time to recommend dishes for us, which made ordering simple and personal.
We arrived a few minutes early to pick up our food and, after paying, waited briefly. The owner kindly handed us a couple of cans of Pepsi Max while we waited — such a small but thoughtful gesture that really showed genuine hospitality.
Then we got home and tried the food… and honestly, the first bite took us straight back to India.
Everything was cooked perfectly. The naans were fresh, the malai kofta was rich and flavourful, and the kadhai paneer and dal makhani tasted authentic and comforting. It’s not easy to find Indian food this fresh and true to its roots.
We genuinely feel like we’ve found our new go-to local restaurant — and we’re already looking forward to ordering again.
I visited this restaurant at 9:10 PM for the first time, and the experience was rubbish. Even though they close at 10 PM, the staff told us the kitchen was closing soon the moment we entered. We sat down, but they kept coming back every minute, rushing us to order. One staff girl even stood near our table staring at us while we were trying to read the menu.
Disgusting food too oily How can anyone read a menu in 2 minutes, especially on their first visit? Because of their attitude, we couldn’t even order and ended up walking out without eating anything. Bullshit customer service. Absolutely not coming back.
We took 1 hours drive to reach this restaurant.

We came from far away and were hoping to enjoy our meal, but their attitude completely spoiled our mood. Very disappointed. I hope management looks into the behaviour of the night staff because this is not the service I expected from a place I usually enjoy.
This was the first time I visited during the night, and the service was very unprofessional. I hope the management pays attention to this, because customers should not be treated like this when there is still plenty of time left before closing. Look at the food disgusting
Patiala Shahi Indian Restaurant is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking an authentic, high-quality vegetarian dining experience.
From the moment you walk in, the management and staff make you feel like royalty; their hospitality is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It is rare to find a team so dedicated to ensuring every guest has a perfect meal. The walls are covered with history of Patiala giving the diners an insight into centuries, how the kings of Patiala were famous for their love of food and grand feasts.
We were truly captivated when the manager graciously shared the profound heritage behind name, Patiala Shahi. Far more than just a title, it is a magnificent tribute to the “Royal City” of Patiala in Punjab, India—a place synonymous with opulence, grand hospitality, and a legendary culinary legacy
The food is nothing short of scrumptiously scrumptious. Each dish is a masterclass in Shahi (royal) flavors—rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. Whether you are a lifelong vegetarian or just looking for a meat-free feast, the depth of flavor here is incredible. Dhal makhani and palak paneer were very delicious
Perhaps most impressive is the reasonable pricing. In an era where “fine dining” quality often comes with a hefty price tag, Patiala Shahi offers premium, soul-satisfying meals and drinks that are accessible to everyone.
If you want world-class vegetarian cuisine served with a smile, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!
We ordered the Chaat Platter to share to start.
A combination of Pani Puri, Papri Chaat, Samosa Chaat and Aloo Tikki. All our favourite street food on a platter. Perfect with a mango lassi.
The Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer were rich and aromatic. Perfect to eat with a combination of Garlic, Garlic and Cheese and Keema (lamb mince) naans.
The pistachio kulfi was creamy and nutty. A lovely way to finish a delicious meal
We found the serving sizes quite normal for Indian restaurants and with curries around $20 – $25 we found it quite good value. The food was tasty and the curries quite hot which suited us.
As a small suburban Indian restaurant, it seems to punch above its weight and we will be back!
