TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Dave’s Hot Chicken is seriously one of the best, if not the best chicken tenders out there. The dry rub is phenomenal, the meat is juicy, and the crunch is perfect.
The dipping sauce is amazing, and the pickles add the perfect tangy balance.
The place is super clean with plenty of seating, making it comfortable even during peak hours.
Staff were incredibly friendly and super helpful for first-timers figuring out the menu. Excellent food, excellent service. Will definitely return!

The employees who work here are always very kind and energetic, and do not hesitate to help us with whatever we ask or need. I remember this one employee named Mike was very considerate and offered a milkshake to my friend and I after an order mix-up and was super friendly.

Always such friendly customer service! The food is great as well. Love the location and the restaurant is always clean and welcoming. I’ve also been an uber driver and picked up food here and they’re so nice and accommodating for their drivers! They even have a pick up window that makes it easier to get the food! This was the best meal I have ever had from any Dave’s location. It was organized and thus easy to eat. The bun was not soggy from the coleslaw (aka they let out the liquid before stacking it on the bun), and everything was made to perfection. It was also a higher quality chicken tender than I remember previously, no gristle or anything.
On the service front, Sofia was amazing, super-attentive, and kind.

I had such a great experience at Dave’s Hot Chicken tonight thanks to Mike and Waverly. They were seriously some of the most outgoing, kind, and genuine employees I’ve ever interacted with. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel welcomed and valued as a customer. They weren’t just friendly they were engaging, upbeat, and seemed like they truly care about the people coming through the door. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and that kind of energy completely changes the whole experience. It honestly made my night. If management is paying attention, Mike and Waverly absolutely deserve recognition. They represent the brand so well and set a high standard for customer service. I’ll definitely be coming back because of them!

The cashier Danny M greeted us very warmly and was very knowledgeable when giving recommendations. Our food came out very prompt. We ordered two orders of 10 piece Dave’s bites one medium heat and one mild along with Mac n cheese and sub one cheese fries you can’t skip those. Crispy and juicy next time I’ll go up to medium heat. I added a extra side of their delicious cheese sauce,hot sauce and honey Halfway through my meal I was reading too quickly and I got a chunk of chicken stuck and almost choked. Austin another employee at the establishment overheard greeted me with the warmest smile in my panic that I needed warm water to help dislodge the chicken. He immediately went and grabbed me a cup of warm water and I was thankful and able to continue my meal. Today we leave full and satisfied. I only wish that more places have this full scale of customer service. We will definitely return again!

Mike and Waverly at Dave’s Hot Chicken seriously made our night! They were so enthusiastic, outgoing, kind, and genuinely sweet. You can tell they care about the customers and love what they do. The customer service at this location is AMAZING — hands down the best. And the chicken? Perfectly cooked every single time. The absolute worst dried out chicken sandwich I’ve ever been served, couldn’t eat it. The menu is either a chicken sandwich or strips with different breading spiced level options from no heat to nose bleed burn. My wife tried the strips with mild and I tried the sandwich with medium heat and the breading looked like burnt ground up Doritos. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but with the limited menu I’ve just had no interest in returning. Nope for me, but good luck to you for a better experience. Some people rave about it so to each their own…
