We literally haven’t even left the restaurant yet, and I just have to rave about how delicious this was! We ordered the fried mushrooms appetizer which was unique because it was sliced mushrooms. The batter was delicious with the mushrooms being lightly fried, and they stayed crispy the entire time which is awesome for fried food. We ordered a large fried shrimp platter, and these are probably the best fried shrimp I’ve ever had! My fiance really liked the coleslaw as well and the fries. We also ordered the small pulled pork platter with fried okra. The pulled pork was so tasty that it didn’t even need the barbecue sauce that came with it! The fried okra was crispy and delicious. We were thought we were finished and full until one of the owners came by the table to ask us about dessert. This blueberry cobbler was the best, and it came with cinnamon ice cream too. There also was an amazing chocolate layered cake- the chocolate ganache on top was perfectly balanced with the cake.
The interior of the restaurant is welcoming with lots of different sized tables and fun lights (the mini whisky barrel lights are so cute!). You can tell how much love and prayer the owners put into every touch. Even the bathroom is so pretty with a sugar scrub at the sink and little mirrors on the front of the bathroom stalls. Make sure you read their core values sign as you enter the bathroom- beautiful, heartfelt, and tells you everything you need to know. Everyone working is so friendly and welcoming- you feel like you’re at home! I can’t wait to come back to try the Mac n cheese and brisket!

Yoi absolutely can not go wrong with this fantastic restaurant. The staff amazing the good excellent. Meat isn’t dry it’s cooked to perfection and is tender.The dessert amazing. The atmosphere was great. Very neat and clean. This is a must go to in Wilmington. And their house made bbq sauce soooo good we had to buy some to take home with us.

The brisket is scrumptious, and that skillet cornbread was as well. Everything we had was good. The service was too notch, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very nice and clean. It’s on our list for every trip to Wilmington! And they even have Cheerwine like all proper smokehouses should.

From one military family to another, we appreciate your services and your hospitality. Not only does this family-ran, black own business have amazing food and hospitality, but the diner is astonishing from the art to the decorations to the clean restrooms–an absolutely amazing experience. My first time in Wilmington, NC and this restaurant is the first place my oldest daughter brought us to. I 100% recommend. Go eat, enjoy and leave satisfied!

thing was delicious. The experience was first class starting with Myra who welcomed us and made sure we knew our options. There was no room for desert but we got Coconut cake to go. We will be back and highly recommend that you go so you can feel like a family member.

OMG!!! It’s been such a long time since I’ve been to MeMa’s! We were able to build our meals the way we wanted! For a family of five we walked out with more than we could finish!! The portion sizes were unbelievable and the tastes are out of this world! Our athletes were out of commission!
