I ate here for lunch. The staff is always friendly and provides excellent service, checking on us often. I was disappointed in the quality of the food. When Tequila’s first came to East Peoria, their food was excellent. I realize I was in the lunch rush and want to stop in another time to rate the food again.

Upon getting seated, a heaping basket of tortilla chips and a full bowl of salsa was brought to my table to welcome me. I ordered a small lime on the rocks margarita and from the menu the once (the 11) combo meal. I thought I’d try something basic.
Let’s cut to the chase. This is an Americanized Mexican restaurant. This is not authentic Mexican food. From the lime margarita to the tacos, rice and beans, this isn’t authentic. And for some people, that works.
The restaurant itself is clean, inviting, spacious and comfortable. The wait staff are friendly and the food came out timely. The food just wasn’t for me.
If you’re looking for real Mexican food, this sadly isn’t the place. The staff are friendly though and it is a nice spacious restaurant, with plenty of other choice options of food to choose from.
I will likely not be back. And if I did, I would definitely order something else to try.

The food/service and restaurant were all great even with the amount of customers they were serving on a busy valentine’s day. Our server was insanely patient with an immensely disrepectful, disruptive, dismissive, and racist group of customers next to our table. I want to commend him for letting those comments wash over him and continue to deliver great service. We will certainly be back!

We had a group of 7, 3 of which were children under 5. Initially, service was great. Quickly this changed. Took 15 minutes to get a water and apple juice. Food came out 30 minutes after ordering and ALL the food was cold. Canned Margaritas are better than what we were served. We were served by 3 different individuals, none of which knew what was happening at our table. This place has potential, but for the number of staff that were present, service was terrible and food quality was sub-par at best.

First time to visit Tequila’s Mexican Bar and Grill. We were seated immediately. The chips and salsa were delivered almost before I could remove my coat.
Our server was great. He recommended the Arroz con Camaron Frajita. This dish did not disappoint! The flavors were excellent! The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the grilled shrimp were mouth-watering good! The Carnitas Platter was very good, too.
Delicious food! We definitely plan to return.

It’s really disappointing because we love the food here but our online orders are NEVER correct. Last time we waited 20 minutes for our order and then we were handed the wrong bag. Every other time we order they never add red sauce to the enchiladas but there’s no customization to remove red sauce and it’s just such an inconvenience to have your orders consistently incorrect. We spend a good amount every time and we ALWAYS tip on to go orders. Guess we’ll be looking for a new Mexican restaurant to go to.

Mehhhhh. After visiting other Mexican restaurants lately in other states and around town I am giving this place 2 stars. The largest margarita is $9 and is about the size of their salsa bowl, the picture is not photoshopped, the Margaritasare very very small. If your looking for a good margarita, this is not the place. The food is OK, nothing special nor something your craving to come for. The chips and salsa, chips are the thick boxed chips, not flaky fresh, and salsa again nothing special. Got the taco salad in the fried bowl, was OK. The service was good, place is dated compared to others.

BEST. Out of the Mexican food I have had in the Peoria area, this place has the food that tastes the closest to the Mexican food I had when I lived in the Southwest. Very fun, clean, relaxing atmosphere and wonderful service.
