The food tastes really authentic. While my chicken tikka marsala didn’t taste like a 10 out of 10 spicy it still had good flavor. The food was fresh and the service exceptional. The place did not stop buzzing the whole time we were there. People were constantly coming in to place orders or visiting for the first time. The server really made the establishment feel welcoming. He has a great personality and was very open about what he knew and didn’t know from the menu. I liked that he went to the kitchen to have questions answered. The mango lassi tasted cold and fresh. Like it was made in house. They advertised for fresh homemade sweet tea. The chili naan was cooked perfectly. And my husband enjoyed the chili chicken. Though it had a Chinese flavor to it, it tasted really good. We have gone back again since our last visit. And the food still hit. When you want local Indian food at a moderate price point, be sure to check out Royal Biryani in the Matthews/Monroe area.

So tonight was supposed to be “date night for us”. Got some family stuff going on and time got away from us. Attempted to order online for a pickup order and stuff didn’t work out— so we had to call our order in— not gonna lie, down to the wire—- the gentleman we spoke to was BEYOND patient, kind and just asked us to be there before 9:30pm because of their closing time. Definitely felt bad ordering this close to closing as I understand the service industry.
We have dined in before and had the most amazing experience— food, staff— everything was amazing. Wanted to be there in person tonight.
Husband raced out to pick up stuff – our price point of money spent comes from 2 people “who EAT to LIVE, not live to eat”- so do not judge us . We love food and have no issues with leftovers— as most taste better the next day (though some will disagree)- the food has always been that good.
When the husband came home — food was HOT, perfectly packaged— smelling AMAZING!!!!!!!!
Once again they delivered— even if we challenged them unexpectedly.
Please support them. They are amazing! This is our first time for takeout and we live 10 minutes away.
Thank you Royal Biryani! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m a picky eater and only like certain types of food. Growing up, I never really ate Indian food because it was never introduced to me, and honestly, the pictures I saw didn’t look very appetizing. That changed when I went to the Taste of Charlotte festival and tried chicken biryani for the first time, it was so good that I immediately wanted to order some from a real Indian restaurant. I looked up Indian restaurants near me and found one I liked. I ordered chicken biryani online, and my total came to $19.76. It would’ve been a little less, but I added a side of raita sauce. For that price, they gave me a huge portion of chicken biryani. The food was delicious and had just the right amount of spice, definitely a 10/10. After finishing all the chicken (3 pieces) and just a little bit of rice, I was already full. And I usually manage to eat an entire meal in one setting, but this one meal had enough food to last me two full days lunch and dinner

Nice Indian spot serving biryani, curry and other Indian classics.

Great service and clean environment next to the movie theater. Friendly and quick service.

We ordered the samosa, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. All came out quickly and was piping hot. Good spice level with a 1-10 scale, we got 6 and it was a good balance.

Recommend this place!

I used to go their ghost kitchen and was very sad when it went out of business. However, the OG in Matthews is even better. Curt was a fantastic host. Hands down one of the best in biryani in town – get the royal thanks special lamb biryani!

A hidden gem in the Mathews area offers some of the best dining.

The seating is limited and cramped. But They are doing the best they can and I admire that.

The staff is friendly. The aromas are intoxicating. The prices are fair. You get a good amount of food for the price. They ask the spice level when ordering. The meals are very delicious. Don’t take my word for it, stop in and try it for yourself.

This place was amazing! I dined in today. The butter chicken was rich and creamy and the tikka masala has amazing flavor with the perfect spice. They had the range from 1 to 10. The naan was soft, fresh and I have to tell this is the best naan I had in all indian restaurant.
The service was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back to try their other ítem.

The food here is simply amazing. Very well cooked and prepared. Everything was full of favor and perfectly cooked. The chicken was absolutely perfect. The veggies and sauce were full of flavor and cooked for a good amount of time to develop a great flavor. Best tasting Indian food so far in the area. Definitely worthy of a visit and a return.

Literally the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I’m a food snob and have lived all over the country including in culinary hot spots like Boston. We get tikka masala chicken , korma chicken, and saag paneer with garlic naan and then we always try something new. Spice level 5 is spicy but tolerable. Spice level 1 is super mild, no spice. Everything is amazing every time.

RUDE CHEF and Management!!!
5 SHRIMP tossed in buffalo sauce is 15$

I’ve went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, Ordered an appetizer and a biryani
1) They served my appetizer to somebody else, When asked, Took it of their table and served it to us
2) When I asked them if it was Hyderabadi dum biryani, They confirmed it is Hyderabadi Dum biryani, When I received it, IT WAS CLEARLY NOT, after eating it “THE RICE WAS NOT FULLY COOKED”, they called in chef who told me “YOU DON’T WANT THIS?, THIS IS HOW IT IS IN HERE”

Left the FOOD and the restaurant with BAD EXPERIENCE

Very rude chef, Not the way to handle a feedback not even a complaint, READ 1 STAR REVIEWS before going here.
