The ceviche was incredibly fresh and vibrant, and the Wagyu tacos for our main course were absolutely outstanding—rich, tender, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere made it a great spot for a celebration, and the whole experience felt special from start to finish.
Five stars for sure!
The tacos are truly the star of the menu. They’re perfectly seasoned, incredibly flavorful, and clearly made with care. Each taco is well-balanced, from the protein to the toppings, and every bite is packed with bold, delicious flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and the seasoning really brings everything together without being overpowering
Portions are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth, whether you’re ordering tacos or other dishes on the menu. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, making it a great spot for a casual lunch, dinner with friends, or even a relaxed night out. Service is friendly and efficient, which adds to the overall positive experience.
If you’re in the Bellevue area and craving flavorful tacos, good portions, and fair prices, Cantina Monarca is absolutely worth checking out. It’s the kind of place that leaves you satisfied and already planning your next visit ✨
The chips and guac were decent but wish there was more guac and it was seasoned more.
The drinks were good too, loved the idea of the flight.. but the margaritas could have been 10% stronger and my favorite was the smoke and spice one.
I loved our waiter though, he was very attentive and checked on us often but was very informative.
I was dining by myself and was sat at the end of the bar. I didn’t know at the time but this is where employees pick up drinks, so it was a little busy for me being I was by myself. I was fine this time because I needed a quick bite but next time I would request somewhere else if I was a lone again or this seating placement is fine with someone else.
Overall great place, friendly staff, mouthwatering flavors and would dine here again. Especially given the fact this place is 100% Gluten Free! Amazing
It felt like the restaurant mainly targets date-night customers, where questioning prices can feel awkward. We were recommended items and add-ons without clear pricing, which makes it inconvenient if you’re hoping for a return experience.
The food quality didn’t match the prices, especially the meat, which didn’t feel or taste like high-quality cuts.
I also noticed a no-show reservation fee charged per person, which was only removed after I called to ask about it.
Overall, the atmosphere is nice and the food looks good, but between unclear pricing, average food quality, and hidden charges, it wasn’t worth the time or cost. We would have had a better experience elsewhere.
TL;DR: Reservation definitely recommended. People eating here might be out of my tax bracket. The food is good, and the service is great as long as you’re still ordering.
We got here around 5:15 and they could not seat a table of six. Ended up waiting for someone for a while and actually got seated around 5:30 out of luck.
The atmosphere is very upscale, with a nice view of the Bellevue Christmas lights (if they’re still up). Menu prices are…absurdly high.
I had an El Rey Taco (4/5). The taco itself was quite good, but for $12 for something I ate in 2-3 bites, I can’t justify going back. If anything, what I paid for was this hilarious photo of a gold hairclip holding together a taco, which I will happily take back and show to people in Texas while eating $1 tacos that are twice the size.
My table got several other tacos and said they were quite good, highlighting the chicken tacos as very good. We ordered the Chips & Salsa (2/5) which came with a comedically low amount of salsa, which we increased to a Trio (4/5) which I would say came with a more reasonable amount of chips and salsa, but definitely not an excessive amount and there were no refills on chips. The orange sauce was my favorite.
The staff were polite and good with water refills up until we declined dessert, after which we were mostly only checked up on to pour the last of water pitchers and give us a side eye to leave.
Lastly, the waitress said she would validate my parking in the nearby garage (very easy to park and go up the elevator) but when I was trying to leave, they said that the validation was invalid. So whatever they did, didn’t work. I had to show my receipt at the restaurant to get out without paying, which was incredibly annoying.
So upstairs to Dukes, where it always feel like home.
We came in last weekend and it was wonderful. It was so good we came back 2 days later to eat again.
The pastor taco is by far our favorite. The pork belly taco with the tropical pico is so flavorful it’s my 2nd favorite. The quessobirria taco is my third and last unfortunstely is the waygu taco. The waygu taco just had too much guac at the bottom for me.
The ceviche is also amazing as well
