Since 1999 Atwater’s has been making traditional food crafted by hand. We began in a small bakery making only one kind of bread and grew to our current Baltimore shops that specialize in soup, sandwiches, salad, cheese, coffee, Scottish pies, jam, and more! As we continue to grow, our commitment to quality food and service remains the same. You can find our fine foods at our locations and markets across the Baltimore-Washington area.
Chain cafe offering light fare & ice cream made from locally sourced ingredients, plus coffee.

Today, I came here for the time to have lunch with friends, and I was impressed with the food and the coffee. I know it’s only February, but this was the best cup of coffee I’ve had all year, and honestly in a long time. The food was amazing and flavorful! I really enjoyed my avocado toast.
It was very busy, but don’t let that deter you! The food and coffee are worth it.

A winter oasis of coziness. Delicious healthy locally sourced food, art, music and a fantastic staff make this one of the great cafés. And staff bartender Kevin makes a mocktail that will suck your soul out

We discovered Atwater’s recently, Wow! What an amazing place… not only do they make most things (even mill their own flour!) They source most things locally. The food is delicious and the service is friendly and competent. The atmosphere is lively at Sunday brunch, relaxing in the coffee shop on the first floor, and the live music on Thursday night was excellent, (Cole Larravide ) I highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Catonsville. It always has my favorite coffee in the morning, and has an excellent selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As a vegetarian with a variety of food allergies, the servers and staff are very attentive and always aware of their food’s ingredients; they are open to making substitutions. They also have great weekend events and evening options, such as their Open Mic night or Pizza Pop up. They have a dinner service with a great menu, and rotating drinks based on what’s in season. The bar staff and servers are super friendly and will often remember you when you return. If you are ever visiting Catonsville, whether in the morning, or looking for a great meal and a beverage in the afternoon or evening, you can’t go wrong with Atwaters.

This is such an adorable cafe!
Not to mention the delicious food and coffee + great service from a young and friendly staff!
The menu is actually unique, in a good way. Every meal here is usually trying something new and it never disappoints!

We ordered a carrot cake for my dads birthday. It was DELICIOUS! Very moist. Hands down one of the best carrot cakes we have ordered.
It served 6 adults with plenty left

This place is great! There was a slight wait when we first got here, but they were very happy to escort us over to the handicap and wheelchair elevator to take us up to the 2nd floor where we were shown the restroom and offered a seat at the bar until our table was ready. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. We were sat at a nice, cozy table. There was somebody playing live music at a nice level. Where it was still easy to talk. We ordered some coffee, expresso, and a cappuccino (there seemed to be a little confusion with our coffee order, maybe because they were so busy) while we waited for our main entries. We ordered the avocado toast with the side of bacon, a grilled chicken avocado sandwich with a side of fried potatoes. The coffee, espresso, and cappuccino were all excellent. The chicken sandwich was nice and juicy. The only issue that we had was the confusion with the coffee, which was most likely due to us. The explosed silverware wear and no bottled water or soda (the only reason we would have an issue with that is due to my dietary restrictions). Otherwise this place was very nice and we will definitely visit again the next time we are only the area.

Came for lunch with 2 other friends. Got a chicken avocado sandwich and a watermelon feta salad.
The chicken sandwich was as promised, nice brioche but the grilled chicken was too dry and lacked seasoning.
However the watermelon feta salad had a total for 4 watermelon pieces and some feta crumbs. Just felt $15ish for the salad didn’t justify what we got.
Coffee was great but the price just didn’t feel right for what we got.

The food here is really good, especially the matcha latte and avocado toast. I do wish there was an option to substitute the bacon for turkey bacon. That said, the service could definitely be better. Every time I’ve come, I’ve had to wait quite a while just to be acknowledged by a host. On one visit, a server spilled my drink on me and didn’t even apologize. I had also asked her for hot sauce at the beginning of the meal and never got it. Finally, breakfast ends at 11am so plan accordingly!
