We finally made it to Grandma’s Kitchen in northwestern Wakefield, NH after a friend’s recommendation—and wow, it was nothing short of amazing!
We thought we’d have to wait forever to get in on a Sunday morning (it’s that popular!), but they sat us right away. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the food… absolutely unforgettable.
Their daily specials are so creative—where else can you find a meatloaf scramble or pie on top of waffles (yes, blueberry pie or apple crisp pie on top—pure genius )?
If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping in. It’s one of those hidden gems that makes you feel right at home.

Service was good, food was yummy. I got the veggie skillet and my husband got the farmhouse breakfast. The coffee was pretty standard, yummy and caffeine packed. We got here when they opened and its already pretty busy. Cute retro restaurant.

My husband and I came here twice last year and twice this year, staying at the Mountain View Grand. The food is awesome. Good prices too. I am glad the chef came out to ask how our food was because I wanted to give him some praise! I wish we lived closer otherwise we would be coming back here every weekend.

Stopped here for breakfast while staying in a nearby cabin and it was totally worth the 20 minute drive! All the food our family of 4 got was delicious and loved the NH maple syrup! Service was very friendly and quick as well. Only minor complaint is that it can be pricey as a lot of items are additional charges (like $2 for a small container of NH maple syrup) so the bill can add up quickly. But it’s all worth it, so I definitely recommend coming here if you are staying in the area!

Entering this place is like taking a wonderful step back into time! Very 40’s n 50’s nostalgic feel! Great retro music and accessories decorate the interior. Pleasant staff, very accommodating. Menu has plenty to choose from and the dishes are fantastic! I barely have to wait to be seated each time I visit. Best part, I leave with a full stomach. Grandma’s Kitchen is a gem of a place that’s worth the visit. Go ahead and try them out. You’ll thank me later

Ordered takeout on a random Saturday afternoon. The buffalo chicken was perfectly cooked. The sauce was good, not to hot, not to powerful. The fries were seasoned wonderfully. I was not expecting the bread but it was a delicious surprise. The food was packaged nicely and not just thrown together in a box like other takeout. 5/5 will order this again.

We stopped here on the way to Santa’s Village and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with great service and atmosphere. We were also very pleasantly surprised when a gentlemen heard our accent and discretely paid our bill with a simple message, ‘Welcome to America’. The welcoming people around New Hampshire was nothing short of amazing and this place was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend a visit!

Grandma’s Kitchen is amazing! Fantastic food, friendly staff and a great small town atmosphere.
The smoked sausage skillet was unreal and my wife got pancakes with homemade syrup. A definite must stop for breakfast. It fills up pretty quick so plan accordingly. Luckily I’m the oldest 40 year old in existence and got up at 6am on my vacation, so we were there bright and early

Was staying nearby and came here for breakfast. My omelette was delicious. Fluffy unlike other places where it’s a thin layer of egg because it’s cooked quickly on flattop. It also was browned and cooked perfect! And the fillings were actually cooked down some. The corn beef hash is no doubt homemade and it was delicious. Great service and I loved the old time music and Denis The Menace playing on a small Tv.
