Cozy, 1950s-style diner, dishing up both updated & traditional American comfort food all day.

Solid, everything was well made and very tasty. We tried the artichoke dill dip with pita chips…outrageously delicious, the vegetable chowder defies explanation, and all entrees were wonderful. Super impressed and looking forward to the next visit.

Great, relaxed place with really good food at reasonable prices, and very good, friendly service. Has the ‘diner’ vibe but modernized, clean, well-lit room and not a TV in site- thankfully! Outdoor seasonal patio is nice as it is not right on the street but on a raised platform set back from traffic and the sidewalk. Place attracts a very diverse crowd and has a diverse staff also, which makes the place relaxed and positive. Only issue is parking, as it shares space with other businesses and a very active bank.
The menu offers a great selection of choices for all foodie needs, and portions are large. They not only have ‘diner’ selections but also finer dining options. The kitchen turns out fresh, flavorful items, from breakfast to dinners-whoever is doing the cooking here knows what he/she is doing, as the food comes out hot, freshly cooked and large portions, too. Staff is willing to adjust orders to accommodate special requests, and checks back frequently with the customers. I like their frequent diner rewards program as well, which adds up $-wise. I have not had any of their desserts/salads/soups or bar items, to be honest, but think those items would also be of quality and quantity.
Delighted to eat there, it is locally owned & operated, too, and it has become one of my favorite places to have a meal or take friends. Would highly recommend this place for all ages/food interests!

The Grecian chicken pita is hands down the best sandwich in Cleveland. Was here to meet a co-worker for lunch who was thoroughly impressed with his burger. Definitely will be back and highly recommend Dinerbar on Clifton. Keep up the great work!!

Dinerbar on Clifton is definitely doing something right. The food was pretty good. Good enough to make me want to return again. The service was attentive and polite, and the food came in a timely manner after we ordered, too.
THE FOOD
I got the vegetarian chili and a veggie burger. Both were pretty good. The veggie burger seemed to be quinoa based. It definitely fell apart after a few bites, so be ready with your fork, haha.
ARTWORK / WALLPAPER
There’s some peculiar artwork used as their wallpaper. No one working there knew who she was, so I did a bit of research while sitting. I found that the woman’s name is Lina Cavalieri and she was an opera singer and actress during the late 19th Century and early 20th century. Piero Fornasetti started reproducing her image in 1952 after seeing her face in a magazine. These two never met as Cavalieri died in 1944 at the age of 69. There are around 400 variations of Cavalieri’s face in Fornasetti’s “Tema e Variazioni” series (Theme & Variation). In conclusion, this is some IYKYK type of interior design decor for those who are hip to it, thus making Dinerbar on Clifton that much more upscale compared to the average neighborhood diner.

I think we’ve found Perfect bacon… So, my wife saw this diner on the way to our Valentine’s dinner and we decided to go there for breakfast this morning. First off, the atmosphere is clean and modern, a very comfortable place to be. Our server, Angel was very upbeat and attentive. Our food was served quickly and arrived fresh and hot. I had the Ham ‘Diner’ Scramble and I will say the portions and ingredients are as good as they come. There were plenty of fresh vegetables, ham, and cheese cooked just right. The other half of the plate included the home fries which were a good mix of slightly soft potatoes with crunchy counterparts (I recommend a little salt and pepper across the board). We also ordered a side of bacon… FULL STOP there are things that I don’t like about bacon, sometimes. Too chewy, too crunchy, too thin, too salty … but I will say that when I ate this bacon there was NOTHING I did not like about about it. In fact, it is the best bacon I have had, to date, there I said it. If you just want a good breakfast and know you’ll be happy, this is the place. We’ll be back to enjoy the outdoor seating.

Waited 10 minutes after being seated to even get attention to get water, and another 15 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted coffee. Flagged a blonde girl with glasses down whom I can only assume was the manager because she just walked around pretending to look busy when she wasn’t at the bar on her phone, and she acted like we were bothering her? 8-10 people working, empty tables but the excuse was someone called off…. Our waitress was trying her best while the others made jokes and roamed around doing next to nothing. Food was mid, lukewarm and obviously from a Sysco can.

Food was not made right, fries were cold. The waiter was annoyed at first, but he understood. The cook took my chesseburger and just put it back on the grill, brought it back out cut in half, I’ve never seen anything like that before lol.. First and last time there probably..

Excellent diner/bar. I discovered this little gem a couple years ago and go for date nights, client visits, girls brunch etc. it is so unique and cute with amazing food and cocktails. The one tiny draw back is the very tight spacing of the middle tables, but otherwise one of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland.

Impromptu visit to the dinerbaronclifton. Extremely Covid Safe and Conscious. We ordered the Risotto Balls made with pesto and parmesan cheese and deep fried golden brown served with marinara sauce. The Risotto Balls were my “best bite” today. Cut with folk, melted cheese, fresh marinara and crunchy outer shell. I haven’t had better. Also had the Dinerbar Tuna Melt with house-made tuna salad plus melted swiss and cheddar cheeses on a grilled sour dough bread. Served with house made potato chips. These chips made Us happy as they were brown and crunchy. We also liked that they didn’t over kill the tuna salad with extra ingredients. The Sour Dough-breaded Onion were were ok. my Son enjoyed the Mac and Cheese and the portion felt like it weighed a pound. We have enough for two more sittings. The fries were fresh cut and cooked right!
They also serve breakfast and have a dinner menu. Worth a look at if you want to try something new.
