During my first visit I had one of the best bagel breakfast sandwiches, ever! The asiago bagel was warm, with a crisp exterior and soft inside. And I am picky coming from the PNW where good bagels are highly available made fresh by the owner; Giovanni. He was very friendly and welcoming. Its inside Marabella pizza–go get some!!

The establishment smelled wonderful & was clean. I ordered lox bagel all the way, minus onions. The order was to go. Upon opening it, I was surprised it wasn’t cut in half, not a show stopper. I gave it one star because the bagel was doughy like it wasn’t cooked all the way, bottom part was soggy. Cream cheese consistency was like mayonnaise, lox was warm. I didn’t ask for the bagel toasted, it definitely didn’t seem toasted since it was soggy. Was bummed as I was really looking forward to a real NY bagel and this one fell far short. Maybe I’ll try the pizza, someone was eating a slice of Sicilian, it looked really good and it had a nice sounding crunch.
You are correct, I did not ask for it not be toasted, I assumed it would not have been if not requested, or ask me if I want it toasted as you did the customer that came in after me. The bagel was undercooked and doughy. I did update the stars for service and atmosphere.

Tried Giovanni’s because we were in the neighborhood and had a great experience. Cinnamon bagel was delicious toasted. Staff was very friendly. Strongly recommend.

Giovanni’s bagels at Mirabella are terrific! Just what Wilmington has been missing! Excellent NY style bagels and the friendliest owner. We picked up a dozen while our boys were in town and had to go back the next day for more. Soft and chewy with the perfect consistency. We are so happy that you are here!
