I ordered from Casa Amigos through DoorDash and had a terrible experience. I ordered the mi casa Fajitas, which cost over $30, expecting a proper portion of meat.

What I received was extremely disappointing. There was barely any meat at all — just a few tiny pieces of shrimp and chicken. The majority of the dish was bell peppers and onions. For the price, this was completely unacceptable and misleading. It felt like I paid over $30 for vegetables.

When I called the restaurant to complain, instead of taking responsibility, they told me to resolve the issue with DoorDash, as if DoorDash had cooked the food. DoorDash delivers the order — the restaurant is responsible for the food quality and portions.

Overpriced, poor portions, and zero accountability. I would not recommend this place and will not be ordering again.

We finally got around to trying Casa Amigos and now it’s one of our favorite places on the west side of Pittsburgh. It’s easy to overlook as it’s tucked back in an office park near the airport. There fish tacos are consistently excellent; nice cuts of grilled fish cooked perfectly. If you like some extra heat, I recommend asking for a side of their homemade hot sauce, also really good (I’d buy it in a jar if they sold it) The restuarant is bigger than it looks from the street; there’s a big glass atrium area on one side and a bar area on the other. There are even a couple of tables out front for when the weather is agreeable. Service is friendly and quick.

We ordered everything that was on special that night. Fish tacos, shrimp tacos, house margaritas. The margaritas were quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. Both taco meals were very good. The shrimp were a decent size. The fish was lightly breaded. The sides were a large portion and tasty. We also had chorizo queso appetizer also very good. The service was exceptional. The dining area that we were seated in was separate from the bar area. It was a glass covered patio type area. It was like being outside but you were indoors. We liked that as well.

Quite disappointed with the experience. I think this place is trying to position themselves as a bit more of an upscale Mexican restaurant, but the food quality isn’t there at all. I ordered a very simple meal and left unsatisfied. I tried their Casa Quesadilla with chicken and a tres leches cake.

Since this quesadilla was one of their house specials, I was pretty excited to give it a shot. But, it really wasn’t good. There was very little cheese in the quesadilla and the chicken was both fatty and tasted like it had been cooked from a frozen grocery store pack. Super dry and virtually no flavor.

The quesadilla came with a good portion of rice. The rice was okay but nothing special. Also quite dried out and the vegetables seemed to come from a can. Not much flavor here either.

Finally, the tres leches. The tres leches was actually quite tasty and the only item I had that wasn’t dry. Nice amount of whipped cream and soaked well. However, I’m nit even sure if they make these in house. They didn’t remove the paper covering surrounding the cake when they put it in the takeout bag (so maybe they just got it from elsewhere).

All in all, disappointed. Dry food and way too overpriced, even if portions are pretty solid. Not fresh. Rubbery chicken. Wouldn’t come back.

Nice atmosphere and great service. Waiter was very attentive and polite. Not the best Mexican food I’ve had but certainly not the worst!

We went around 3pm on a Tuesday and the restaurant was empty at the time. We were sat and served by Oscar, who took great care of us. The cheese and salsa were delicious and were served soon after ordered. The entrees came quickly as well and were also delicious! We would definitely eat here again.

The margaritas & food were wonderful. I went with 3 other people and everyone enjoyed their meal. Two of us thought the chips could have used a bit more salt, but my dad was happy that there was almost no salt on them. Definitely a personal preference thing.

The waiter was very friendly and service was fast. We went on a weekend for lunch, so the restaurant was almost completely empty, but some tables were blocked off to be safe for the pandemic restrictions and the staff we saw all had on masks at all times.

I definitely recommend this hidden gem. It’s so nice to be vaccinated and able to go out to restaurants without worrying.

Great food and excellent service! We were really impressed with ambiance, quality of food and the service. I had their tocos which is served with rice and beans – absolutely delicious. We also had a “Mexican Mule” which was delicious! They swapped out the vodka with a shot of tequila!! Overall highly recommended!

Friends of ours had seen their sign and wanted to check this place out, so we came out on a Sunday night. Much to our surprise the place was almost completely empty and staff outnumbered customers by at least a two to one ratio! This might explain why we had not even sat down and our server was already there with chips and salsa and wanting our drink order?

Then again, service was super quick throughout our visit. We spent a total of an hour in the place and this included us perusing the menu, ordering appetizers and entrees, eating, packing up leftovers, paying, and leaving!

In addition to being quick, our server was very nice and efficient. He stopped by multiple times to see if we needed anything or to get us more chips and salsa.

The food was decent. Nothing was particularly great, nor was any of it of poor quality. It was just OK. There were also no special dishes on the menu. This is pretty standard fare for this kind of restaurant. We tried the Pollo Loco and it was a bit on the dry side: The Pescado dish was good as the Mahi Mahi was covered in a really nice sauce. The Enchiladas del Mole were disappointing as the Mole’s predominant flavor was sweetness and it was lukewarm. Considering how fast all the food came out after we placed our orders, most of these dishes must have been already prepared and just needed to be plated. As a matter of fact, our appetizer came only about one minute before the main dishes which created a space problem on the table.

Portions are very ample and prices are not expensive as we spent around $35 per person and that included drinks.

Would we come here again? Probably not as we can get similar food at places much nearer to where we live, but this is not a bad place — just pretty average.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was plenty of seating and no wait. The server was pleasant. The food was good. We didn’t have the chance to check out the tequila bar area of the restaurant but would definitely go there again.
