I had a great meal at the Slip Chickens in Independence, MO. I ordered the Classic Meal—4 piece tenders with fries and Texas toast. Delicious. The chicken was hot, tender and juicy. I also enjoyed the environment of this restaurant. I was warmly greeted when I entered, and received excellent customer service. I highly recommend the Independence Slim Chickens!

The tenders are really small and while waiting for my order I noticed a $.75 charge for NO DRINK with a Mac bowl that was $10.79. And when I asked the employee about being charged $.75 He refused to assist me and said he just works there. I asked if his boss was available and he said no she’s not there. Spent $57.00 on 2 large drinks, 2 meals, 2 desserts and a Mac bowl. Makes me wonder how much Slim Chickens is making a year off of customers by up charging a bogus $.75 ( no drink) charge all because they don’t want a drink with the Mac bowl… Really sad that customers are being taken advantage of by a corporate business.

Let’s start with the negatives. I’m not one too complain about a restaurant due to understanding how hard the service industry is on employees but this restaurant has probably the most egregious cleanliness standards I’ve seen by far. When I walk in its almost like a house of horrors. The floors were filthy with spilled soda and trash everywhere. None of the tables seemed to have been wiped down so we had to sit at the window bar. The soda dispenser was absolutely disgusting and filthy. The who i assume to be the manager was touching everything with her bare hands and what was wiped down had a noticeable layer of grease or something sticky on it. I am appalled by the state of this restaurant. The food is good though. Please clean your areas!

My now favorite chicken tender joint. Tenders and tender bites are juicy and seasoned well. Love the dipping sauce selection. And the fried okra is worth the uncharge to me. The dessert in a jar is dangerously good. Try out Slim’s!! How you like it!!

The chicken is delicious! The house made sauces are great! The menu is simple & delicious! Obviously, the chicken is great… but I love the selection of teas & lemonade! The peach tea is amazing & the seasonal lemonade’s are spectacular! Great place to sit down for some delicious chicken!

I enjoy Slim’s Chicken for the most part. I haven’t eaten there much. I can count on one hand. But I decided on the tenders this time. They were unusually small pieces. So for $10 I was unsatisfied. If there is a next time…and the size and portion matches my last. I will ask for a refund and not return to this place anymore.

Was little busy, we did have to wait a awhile for someone to take our order. All the seating was dirty. Food came out a lil too fast, the chicken was just off. We were both sick two days after eating lunch here.

This is the first time I have eaten at a Slim Chicken. I got the Cayenne Chicken Sandwich meal and it was delicious. The chicken had the right amount of crisp and it was not overall spicy. If you want it to be very spicy you may need to add some spice to it.
Our food also came out swift.
I paid $50 and there were 5 of us who ate.
Emma is one of the employees there and she deserves a raise. Her service was great. My nephew spilled his pop and she gladly mopped it up, even with my brother offering to do it. Her service was speedy as well.
