We were seated at our reservation time, ordered drinks and appetizers, and received those without a problem. Shortly after, another couple was seated next to us. Once we finished our appetizer, we waited 45 minutes with no check in, no updates, nothing. During that time, the table beside us was served their meals, the same dishes we had ordered. I know because I heard her question why she received béarnaise sauce when she ordered Mac & cheese.
We also noticed a 20% gratuity automatically added to all bills. If tips are being pre charged, the service should reflect that level of care, especially for a $360 dinner.
When our food finally arrived, it was extremely underwhelming, especially for a place often called the best steakhouse in Colorado Springs. My husband ordered a medium filet mignon and it was dry enough that he had to use my béarnaise sauce just to make it edible. I had the opposite issue. My medium rare steak was mushy and visibly undercooked. Because the dining room lighting is so dark, I could not even properly see the inside without using my phone camera, and I did not want to disturb other guests, so I boxed most of it up instead.
To top it off, the dessert we ordered was first delivered to the table next to us, which further made us feel like our food may have been mistakenly served elsewhere earlier in the evening.
When I got home and cut into the steak to reheat some for my son, I was honestly disgusted by how pink and undercooked it truly was.
For a $360 experience, this level of service and food quality was incredibly disappointing, especially considering how much we have enjoyed this restaurant in the past.
Photo showing the piece I did not reheat when we got home…
Taylor was an absolute joy and made the best cocktails / recommended the best drinks based on my preferences. Fantastic cocktails and the steak was devine
We also experienced long waits throughout the evening. My husband’s cocktail from the bar didn’t arrive until after we had already finished dessert, which was disappointing.
The food itself was good overall. The mac and cheese was definitely the star of the meal in my opinion. However, once we got home, I discovered a large, thick, coarse hair wrapped throughout the mac and cheese. I hadn’t eaten much of it at the restaurant, and later that evening I nearly ate the hair when reheating it. That was extremely upsetting and unsanitary. It’s very disappointing when we are now home and I can’t send it back so I had to throw away the max and cheese.
Sadly, between the service issues and the food quality concern, we don’t plan on returning.
From the moment we sat down, our server Brad made the experience amazing. He was attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
The food was prepared perfectly across the board. Every dish came out exactly as it should, hot, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. A highlight of the meal was the truffle mac n’ cheese, which was absolutely delicious: rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without being overwhelming.
Highly recommend Prime 25 if you’re looking for great service and a meal that delivers on every level.
The atmosphere was quiet and sophisticated. Most of us were were smartly dressed, and it also seemed as there was a little more casual dining available at the bar.
One of us ordered the scallops, which were perfectly seated and the risotto was AMAZING. Two of us ordered the ribeye (which did have a source rub but was not in any way spicy) and with steaks were PERFECTLY cooked. And one had the tuna, which also was perfectly seared and was wonderful.
The sides are served family style and 3 were perfect for the 4 of us. We loved the duck fat potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms, but they all sounded amazing – it was tough to choose! Highly recommend!
