GJs is the best family owned diner i have ever been to. My wife and I found this place 4 years ago when we moved to Garden City. Gabby (to find out was neighbor) has always been amazing!. She remembers our favorite foods (my whole familes) and always treats us with kindness, respect, and enthusiasm. GJs will always be our go to. I have spoken to the owner and cook a few times and he always been very pleasant, kind and accommodating. My family loves this place!!!

Stopped in for lunch with my father on a Thursday afternoon prior to my dad’s flight home. Waitress missed us coming in and apologized, quickly getting us drinks after noticing we had been sitting for a few minutes without acknowledgment. Food came super fast, like within 5 minutes and was very good. Really traditional diner/coney you will find in metro Detroit. My mother’s initials are GJ, might have played a factor in which place I picked for lunch, regardless I was happy with the choice and would return for a meal if in the area!

The staff was welcoming, friendly and warm. The inside had a classy splash of holiday decorations along with beautiful paintings. The food was classic, however my mother is the only person who gets 5 star food reviews from me. Specifically Roberta and Gabby made it amazing. Definitely coming back

I highly recommend avoiding. Saw one of the owners preparing my salad with his bare hands. When I politely and quietly asked the nice waitress for a refund she had to tell him why and he became incredibly rude and defensive of his actions by saying he’s “allergic” to the gloves. Being an owner of the establishment he should know the food safety regulations that state when handling prepared food you must wear gloves. I don’t want your bare hands in my salad. That’s nasty man. Also, treat your customers better, I was t being loud or rude and was actually trying to do you a favor my asking for my refund quietly so the other people in the restaurant didn’t hear me but way to call yourself out and make a scene. Your behavior is the reason for this review as well. That was my one and will be my only experience with them. I gave them a shot based on a coworkers recommendation and I think I can safely say they won’t be order for you guys anymore.

This place was absolutely amazing! Great staff, great food and great environment! Very clean. Our waitress was very nice and very attentive. The food was fresh and made just as ordered. The speed of service was also 10/10. I got the Gyro with extra cucumber sauce and it was SOOOOOO GOOD! chili cheese fries were also a hit. My little one loved the chicken tenders and fries, I even loved the tenders lol They have really good BBQ sauce and ranch as well. I love sauces so that’s a plus in my book! OH and they have great pie I will definitely be back to this place, possibly for breakfast next time?

We went there for lunch. My sister wanted some changes to her meal. The waitress said that should be fine. The cook went off on her and we could hear him yelling at her. He told her if they want changes they could go somewhere else. So we got up and went to leave. The waitress bless her heart apologized on his behalf. Then the cook comes out trying to tell us how busy he has been, how he has had only water all day, etc…not once apologizing for his unprofessional behavior. I calmly told him you said we could go somewhere else so that is what we will do. His reply I can make it that way, but you won’t like it. We choose to leave. With his behavior, I honestly was afraid he’d spit in our food. Gone there forr years, will not be back.
