Stopped by the Grand Traverse Pie Company on Zeeb Rd in Ann Arbor and had a solid experience overall. The food was tasty and the portions were decent. My sandwich was good, but it had a bit too much of that standard white lettuce, which took away from it a little.

That said, the pie was excellent and absolutely the highlight of the visit. The place was clean, comfortable, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you’re there for dessert.

I had this place catered when I worked at Amazon. I thought I would stop in a try it again. I got the smoked ham and havarty sandwich and a slice of coconut cream pie both were excellent. The ham sandwich had some apple butter on it with a spicy mustard which made for excellent flavor combo. The coconut cream pie was creamy and the crust was flaky and it was very good. Definitely stop in amd try this place if you get a chance.

I have been wanting to try this place and we finally did and it was SO WORTH IT!!!

Pie is my favorite dessert and not only was that good, their sandwich was too!

The employee was helpful and explained some of the pie flavors to us as we were deciding what to pick.
We ended up going with the pie Mountain Berry that had 4 different berries in it and the Blueberry Lemon Silk Pie.
Both were sooo delicious!! I definitely want to try their other flavors. I was in pie heaven looking at all the different flavors!

Then after scarfing those down, our real food came. The breakfast sandwich was not good. Do not get that.
BUT the French Dip with aus ju was DELICIOUS!! The herby bread they use is such a great pairing with the roast beef. I am still drooling thinking about that sandwich.

Their atmosphere is quaint and welcoming and very spacious. They even list all their pie flavors on the wall! Will definitely come back!

Stopped in on a road trip heading back to Chicago. Whenever you have “pie” in the business name, it’s a must stop regardless. This business is much more than just pie. It is a full sit down/takeaway experience. The menu is extensive and of course the dessert menu is “grand”. Unfortunately we did not have the time to sit down. Waited in line (not long all) to purchase 2 pies to go. Unfortunately we must have stumbled on to a cashier that was having a very bad day. No hello. Stared at me like I was a different planet (I’m not). Scanned the pies. I paid. She handed me my receipt. We literally did not exchange one word to each other. Fortunately the bad taste in my mouth turned sweet after tasting that delicious apple pie.

Excellent lemon meringue and ABC (apple, blueberry and cherry) pie slices.

We came back again a month later, for some delicious banana cream pie, and strawberry and rhubarb crumb pie slices. Yum!

Update 03/06/2022: This time we ate a full meal here. We particularly liked the potato and bacon soup, and the GT club sandwich! The 3-course combo was also a worthwhile deal.

Best potato soup I ever ever had! Went well with my Michigan Turkey sandwich on sourdough. Hubby had breakfast wrap and it was fabulous as well. Food was hot, service was friendly.

I highly recommend this cute little, comfy place.

They’re in the strip mall right off 94 west. Our Maps was wrong and we drove past it.

The pot pie was amazing hot and fresh and so crispy on the top and outside. The crust is so flaky. The cherry pie was good as well. I would skip the salad. The manager was super helpful and knowledgeable. Will return when I come back down state

This is our first stop on our family vacation to northern Michigan. We had a variety of items:
Reuben sandwich – perfect
BLT – good assortment of lettuce
Spinach salad with goat cheese lacked goat cheese, fresh tastes no
Chicken noodle – good but not enough chicken and salty
Turkey club- tastes fresh
Lakeshore berry pie – fantastic
Coconut creme pie- fabulous
Strawberry rhubarb – fabulous
Chocolate peanut butter -awesome

Overall the service and food was excellent with a few noted exceptions. Pies were outstanding flavorful with perfect flaking. One of the best pies you can get

Friendliness of staff needs some work.
This is my 3rd time here in in the last month and every time that I come in I try to talk to the staff and am dismissed, talked over, or just seemingly regarded as slowing down the process even if I’m the only one in line.

This last time really took the “pie” though. I am gluten intolerant and purchased a small pie and tea and was trying to tell the cashier that my teen was on a drive at the drivers ed in the complex and it gets cold waiting in the car for 2 hours(signaling my intent to sit down)…
I was interrupted and offered a gluten free cookie BOGO, but was unsure what the cookie was when I asked.
My pie was bagged and handed to me, then a cup.
I made my tea and sat down at a table, then realized no utensils were in the bag. I went to the counter to request a fork, and had to grab someones attention as they were headed for the kitchen.
I explained that I was not given a fork and would like one. She hovered over the metal utensils, faultered, then handed me a plastic wrapped plasic fork.

The food is always very good, but since this treatment seems to be the norm, I don’t believe that I’ll be returning.

Pie Day was a perfect day to try this place out. Everything was spot on, but the food that wasn’t a pie. The French dip was lacking in taste and meat, but the bread was good and easy to eat. The potato & bacon soup is worth going back again for. All the pies we tried were awesome. That’s to be expected from a pie place! So yes, it’s worth a stop! Pepsi products at self serve. That’s fine. I’m a coke or Pepsi person.
