Made from scratch gnocchi with made from scratch everything else. Mushroom sauce heaven. Order the bread so you don’t have to waste a drop.
The kitchen staff is extremely talented. And for such a customized dish, food is presented in a very impressive time.
The bar staff is friendly, music is serenade volume.
Late season enclosed outdoor seating and dining.
For the unbelievable quality of the dish, the prices are extremely generous.
This is excellent food at a daily or weekly visit price.
Top 5 of the year for me.
The raw oysters were sourced from Duxbury, MA (60-90 minutes outside of Boston) and were a refreshing and light start for the meal.
The appetizer with six medium-sized scallops were seared with a nice brown crust and crispy prosciutto bits that deepened the flavor. The scallops were served on a smear of sweet potato puree.
The herbed half chicken was rich and moist with gravy, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. We requested fresh sliced jalapeños, which added a great heat and freshness to the dish.
The shrimp flatbread was topped with juicy shrimp, chopped Roma tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic, and basil. The crust was slightly dry around the edges and the flavor profile varied a decent amount between bites.
The pistachio cake was a mix of lady fingers and a light pistachio cream peppered with maraschino cherries. The cherries provided a burst of tartness and moisture that added variety to the bites.
The Cannolis had a firm shell and a creamy filling. A touch more flavor complexity would elevate them.
When seated outside during the evening, there were many heaters to keep the party warm in the cozy, enclosed patio. It was a bit warm for me, so I would sit inside for subsequent dinner visits.
Special thanks to our server, Nikki, who shared her recommendations and insights on the food and drink menus. Appreciate her professional service!
They do offer some gluten free options for those who need/want it (I’m not sure if gluten free pizza is offered, though).
In terms of atmosphere, it’s a good place for a date night or a nice lunch/dinner. Could be romantic or more casual dress. There are hightop tables, patio seating, and a bar inside and outside.
House made breads = crusty comfort food. Portions are generous. I ordered the special roast pork panino with a side cesar salad. I paired that with Maine Lunch IPA on draft.
Kids loved their burger and cheese pizza.
The Bolognese was excelled and so was the Chicken Marsala.
Our server was friendly and helpful. We will definitely go again to try out more of the menu
Great drinks, food and service.
We had mussels this time n we were disappointed but this has been the only time disappointed with any of their food.
It is a smaller place so does get easily crowded as they are always busy. The outside patio is excellent!!
While waiting for the waitress to come to the table, my husband picked up the Pattie and looked at the underside to see there was a finger hole in it. Hoping that was from a gloved hand, although doubtful. It took about 15 min for our waitress to return to the table. Although you knew it was reluctantly after the whole tomato incident. He explained the hair. She took the plate and asked if he wanted another . The answer was a “NO thank you”. The burger was obviously taken off the bill.
To begin with, the parking is a disaster. The fact that you must pay for the bread is cheesy. Suggestions to offer free bread for the amount of patrons at the table and if they ask for more, then charge. I would think that would be covered by the cost of the $22 burger that was served with less than a handful of fries.
My husband also went to the restroom to find that it was gross with paper towels and toilet paper strewn all over the floor and toilets and urinals dirty, even for a public place. The place is a disaster.
Last time coming here
