Half Shells in Hattiesburg never disappoints! I absolutely love their fried green tomatoes topped with crab cakes — it’s one of those dishes I crave again and again. The almond-crusted chicken salad is another favorite, fresh, flavorful, and filling without being too heavy. Pair it with a glass of wine or one of their cocktails, and it’s the perfect meal. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, and the staff is always welcoming. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Hattiesburg!

Serious Safety Concern and Poor Service – Hattiesburg, MS Location (December 30, 2024)

I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning experience at your Hattiesburg, MS location on December 30th, 2024.

While dining with a friend, I ordered the seafood sampler and garden peach martini. The food quality was subpar – overcooked redfish, greasy flat crab cakes – but more alarming was when my martini glass broke in my mouth mid-drink. Fortunately, the glass shard landed on the table rather than being swallowed, but the drink spilled into my food.

Manager James acknowledged the food issues and offered to remake my order, though there was minimal concern regarding the broken glass incident. By the time my remade food arrived, my friend had finished eating, so I requested it to-go. We paid our bill and tipped accordingly.

Upon opening the container on December 31st, I discovered the order was incomplete: one and a half crab cakes (one crumbled), no redfish, two boudin balls, three small shrimp, fries, and hush puppies. My side of broccoli was also missing.

I immediately called and spoke with manager Jess. After explaining the situation, she did not apologize and requested receipt information. When I explained my friend had paid, she placed me on hold twice (approximately 10 minutes total), once forgetting I was waiting. She then stated she needed to “investigate with the kitchen crew.” I suggested she complete her investigation and return my call. She confirmed my phone number.

It is now January 2nd, and I have received no follow-up call.

A glass breaking in a customer’s mouth is a serious safety issue that warrants immediate attention and follow-through. The lack of concern, incomplete replacement order, and failure to follow up is unacceptable.

Very convenient spot to get food in Hattiesburg. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was good, lots of food however I think that the thing that was lacking was the chicken. It was a bit more on the cold and dry side. Very cheesy and wasn’t as saucy as I’d like. Overall, if you’re looking for pasta, there’s 3 or 4 better spots I can think of, however I had a great experience in the service. Here was nice. I’d come back.

This place was awful. Worst service I have experienced in years of dining at mid – high end restaurants. The wait time was double what we were told, the service felt like we were being avoided the entire time, and when we ordered a filet, they brought out an overcooked ribeye, completely wrong cut of meat in the first place, and complained about it when we asked for a new steak. The manager has terrible customer service and didn’t even take the steak charge off the bill. The food took well over 45 minutes to come out in the first place, and there was not a single apology for anything at all, out of that entire poor experience. 0 out of 5 stars. Oysters are bomb though. That’s about it. Good job oyster crew.

I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. I sat at the bar and enjoyed some good food while socializing and watching some football. This place gives upscale vibes and the staff was friendly. They have a nice selection of food on the menu.

Ordered the filet Orleans with mashed potatoes and asparagus along with the Orleans charbroiled oysters to go. Didn’t receive my oysters. Don’t know if it was just a bad day, but food was expensive and not the best and they forgot a part of my order. Disappointed with my experience.

Loved it. This is our go to place when my wife and I decide to go out. We live 45 minutes away and it’s worth the drive every time. Friendly and attentive wait staff, superbly crafted drinks and food that simply melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more even after you’re stuffed.

Humble Hustle
Our server was Karen and she was phenomenal. I ordered the wrong redfish and when it came out I said it’s missing xyz which she stated that’s something different, but instead of her being frustrated or showing no empathy she simply asked would you like for me to make it that way? She brought it back out and still had a smile on her face.. Her service was amazing, she stayed on top of refills, and the food came out perfect. I will be back to visit her soon
