Excellent pizza! First time here and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is exactly what I want in a pizzeria restaurant. The servers are great. Very helpful and fast. The pizzas bake in minutes due to their extremely hot oven.
We ordered 2 pies and requested the 2nd pie on delay. Our waiter timed it perfectly. The first pizza was the pepperoni which was so delicious. They use fresh mozzarella and fresh basil! The sauce is also fresh. The crust is near perfect and has just the right chew and crispness. The second pie was a sausage & mushroom—same base ingredients but I was not a big fan of this combo. The mushrooms were, eh. I would have preferred the sausage and onion combo.
We didn’t order any appetizers in order to save room for the pizza.

The pizza dough is perfect- a bit chewy yet airy, and thin. My husband is born and raised in Brooklyn and he loves it!
The ingredients are fresh, especially the cheese which is claimed to be “made in house whole milk”.
The place is cash only and has a very cute vibe. Will come back!

So I lived in Hackensack for over 10 years and never tried this place. I said before I start my intense diet let me try this place. I spent over 60 dollars and I am a pizza lover , this is the worse pizza I have ever had no taste what so ever. I can’t believe they have survived over the other restaurants I seen fail in the area. I am a 100% convinced any good review is from internal people with the company. This is definitely the worst pizza I have ever had my whole household thought the same my kids mom from New Hampshire and my son from the Bronx refuse to finish it and my son is a teenager who loves pizza. Ignore my review and agree with it after purchasing.

Great place. But you will have to bring cash. Credit cards not excepted. There is parking. The staff is friendly. The pizza is great. So is the cold antipasto. Remember that this is very thin pizza from a brick oven.

First time dining and we really enjoyed it. Pizza was delicious – we shared red and white pizzas and garlic bread. Easy parking in their parking lot. We went early, around 5 on a Saturday, and we were seated right away. Little bit of a wait for the food to come out but iy was tasty. They are family friendly but did not offer any crayons/coloring. Not a big deal since we usually bring something but could be nice to do in the future for families. Classic pizzeria atmosphere with red checked tablecloths, stone walls, very cozy feel. Definitely want to return, especially for special occasions.

Brooklyn’s Coal Brick Oven is a walk down memory lane. Especially with all the Frank Sinatra’s Jazz music.
If you’re looking for fancy, gourmet-style pizza with exotic toppings, this isn’t the place for you. But if you want a true, old-school NYC neighborhood pizzeria—the kind that feels like grandma’s cooking, made to feed and comfort you—then you’re in the right spot.
Everything here is authentic, from the homemade cheese to the perfectly charred crust, just the way it should be. The only downside? It’s cash only. But for a place with this kind of history and tradition, I get it—it’s part of the charm of an OG establishment.
Oh, and by the way, every BCA friend I know says they come here all the time. That should tell you something!

The best pizza in North Jersey, hands down! The pizza is crafted with incredibly fresh mozzarella, and the thin crust strikes the perfect balance between chewy and crispy—absolutely delicious. To top it all off, I ended my meal with an outstanding slice of New York-style cheesecake that was rich and creamy. Just a heads-up, it’s cash only, but it’s more than worth it!

This is a busy and good spot for pizza and salad.
They have a very limited menu and this is where you can get good pizza. The dough was very fresh.
The resturaunt is very cold for some reason, which made the meal uncomfortable for me.
The place is packed so expect to wait to be seated but not too long.
This is also cash only!!!

Staff and atmosphere were great but unfortunately the pizza was bland, with flavorless and the tough dough that was slapped and beaten to death, poor thing! (I witnessed the prep). I appreciate that the ingredients were fresh but it just didn’t work. Also, when I hear ‘brick oven’ I usually suspect more of a soft, puffy, crust you find on Neopolitan pizza. The style here is more of a hard, dry crust ‘down the shore’ pie.

This was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Their bread is delicious which makes sense why the pizza was so good. You can taste the fact that all the ingredients are freshly prepared daily. I would make sure to come back here every time im in town.
