Fresh new take on a great burger. Everything was cooked to order and as fresh as it could possibly be. Fabulous taste and high quality. The shop was spotless and very light and open. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Metairie Mooyah location on August 24, 2025. This used to be one of our favorite burger spots, but after tonight, we will not be returning.
When we placed our order, instead of the usual metal trays, we were handed a bag. When I clarified we were dining in, an employee claimed they had no clean trays—all were dirty. Yet, I could clearly see only two tables had customers and both had their food on trays. Later, when my wife’s order came out wrong, I returned to the counter and I noticed there was a large stack of clean trays between the prep station and the cashier’s station. When I questioned the inconsistency, an employee who identified himself as the “manager,” named Jachovee (spelling uncertain), reacted unprofessionally. Yes I made a general comment, not directed to anyone in specific, but as me saying “they are lazies”…even though I didn’t personally directed the comment to him or anyone directly, obviously his behavior took it as personal. Instead of addressing the real issue respectfully, he became defensive, dismissive, and combative—calling me “bro,” raising his voice, and even stating he didn’t care and that they were short handed…Even if that was the case, you have to still act professional. He even said he didn’t care to lose his job if I contacted corporate because he had “three other jobs.” …At one point, it appeared the trays were deliberately removed from sight, raising both health and honesty concerns. If they were truly dirty, they should not have been stacked by the food prep area where customers walk up.
This employee’s behavior escalated to the point where I felt unsafe and considered calling the police in case the situation turned physical. Which I did just to make sure he didn’t follow me or my wife outside the restaurant. I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect in a restaurant or anywhere. What should have been a simple dine-in meal turned into an unpleasant confrontation.
As a longtime customer who has recommended Mooyah to many others, I am disheartened. Your food may be good, but unprofessional staff attitudes like this will drive loyal customers away. Tonight you didn’t just lose a sale—you lost a customer who has supported this location for years.

I usually don’t leave reviews, good or bad, but our experience was just so poor that I have to. The sticky floor and weird smell should have been my first clue of what was to come. The broken fountain drink machine should have been my second clue. But we ordered anyways because we have loved MOOYAH since it opened here. The fries were fine but not salted. Three of our 4 burgers were bright pink. We sent two back and they said they would replace them. The one burger that was cooked throughly had old lettuce. After 20 minutes they were finally done with the new burgers except they only remade one of the two we sent back and argued that we only sent one back. We needed to leave and asked for a refund for the one burger they didn’t replace and they said they don’t give refunds. I guess I can see why as the only other customers in there had also asked for a refund after not receiving their fries at all. I expect this location won’t be open much longer.

Took 40 minutes to receive a simple order of sweet potato fries. Multiple people who ordered after us received burgers and fries, before we ever received the fries. They weren’t busy. Workers were laughing and chatting. Offered us free shakes for the long wait but would’ve just preferred a refund at that point. The shakes would’ve probably added ten minutes. I am shocked by how slow it was.

Have frequented this place since moving to Houma. Saw a sign that said under new management when passing the other day but didn’t pay close attention to it. Noticed the place was busier than usual which was a good sign. Soon noticed that the soda machine was STILL broken (going on month 3) which I would assume would have been fixed by now. My wife and I ordered and took our seat. Saw that everyone who came in after us were getting their food before us, but still after a noticeable wait for them. After 20+ minutes our food finally arrived. Portion sizes and patty sizes seem to have gotten way smaller since our last visit.
Will give this 1 more try, but of this is what the new management is doing to this spot I’m not sure we will be back after that.

The food here was soooo good! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The staff was super friendly! Lisa had a huge smile when engaging with me. Place is spotless too, worker was cleaning and you can tell he takes pride in work! which I really appreciated. Definitely coming back—highly recommend!

Definitely wont disappoint. Never heard of this place but it was across the street from my hotel. Stayed for a week and after eating here i made sure to return. Had the bbq burger and the diablo. Loved them both. So much fries i couldn’t finish them all. Regular or sweet potato you cant go wrong. The only downside is i googled it and there aren’t any close to where i live. Cause i am definitely hooked. Hands down best burger ive ever eaten

Even with social distancing being observed, we were able to order our lunch fairly quickly. The food is made to order, which we liked. The burgers were well cooked, but still juicy. They are generous with the fries. The queso dip for the fries was a welcomed change to ketchup. The milkshake was extra thick. They also have vegan and keto choices on the menu. One of the team members, Tawney B., checked on our table to make sure our food was tasty. Smiling faces are always a plus when you visit a fast food restaurant. This is a place we’ll visit again in the near future.

Personal chips were freezing cold, old, and disgusting. The burgers were also cold and the meat was falling apart because they were old pieces of meat thrown on our burgers. This was pitiful and undeserving to paying customers. I would not serve this to a dog! A wasted $28.63! I can’t get my time back from driving to pick up the curbside order but I want my money back! We built our burgers and I’m guessing that was cheese. I know we order cheese but whatever was melted on the burgers certainly did not have a hint of anything resembling cheese. We had to throw EVERYTHING out! So disappointed!
