I do miss the restaurant on State soo much but this wasnt bad at all. Obs, the food is amazing, that hasnt changed one bit. Service was great. The only complaints we had at our table was how dark the dining room was. One lamp on the table that we kept moving around so people could see easier. But thats not even a big issue. We love Capri and will always come back here!

This Was My 1st Visit Since the Rebuild.
We Went Late a Little Before Closing and Was Seated Right Away.
My First Thought Was I Will Have to Come Back and Enjoy the Beautiful Outdoor Patio. They Even Have Heat Lamps.
Our Service Was Good and the Food Was Even Better!! Nice and Hot & Fresh!! We Had Plenty to Take Home Later to Enjoy.
We Had a Little One with Us Who is a Finicky Eater, But Loved the Side of Meatballs.
Everything Was Just as Good as I Remembered.
We Will Definately Be Back!

Last night my wife and I went to the new Capri on Riverside Blvd for the first time. The ambiance as we walked in was amazing. IWe didn’t have reservations, but it wasn’t crowded and we were seated immediately. The waitress was very tolerant as we took our time looking over the new menu. We placed our order for food & drinks. Our salads and drinks arrived promptly . Then about five minutes after our salads had arrived, our entrees arrived. We had hardly taken two bites of our delicious salads. I find this infuriating. I like to enjoy my salad, have a few quiet minutes to let my salad settle, and enjoy some of my drink before the hot entree’s arrive. Our entrees were cold by the time we finished eating our salads. The waitress was apologetic, but the damage had been done. We considered our entrees “average” for taste. I had the half chicken parmigiana & half lasagna, my wife had the full order of lasagna. We both found the sauce a little salty for our taste, but we don’t use much salt in our cooking.

We decided to check out the new location on Riverside. We were impressed with the design and warm atmosphere. After reviewing the menu we decided to try their pizza because of a long ago treat for us. Then after delivering it to the table, we noticed it didn’t look like pizza I have ever seen before. All the cheese topping was a big blob in the center 8″ of the 14″ pizza. Then we managed to separate a slice and taste the blob that destroyed all expectations of a long existing establishment. The crust was like plywood and we couldn’t bare a second slice. So after the appearance of the manager offering another pizza, we decided no and parted the restaurant and didn’t wanted to experience another failure from the inexperienced kitchen help. Good luck to all the future patrons.

From start to finish, just a very pleasant experience. When I called for a reservation, they were “mostly booked” but she figured out a way to fit us in at a prime time. We got there early, fully prepared to wait, but they got us to a table in just a few minutes. Our waitress (Amelia) was very good. She was pleasant, very energetic, and on top of things. Given how busy they were, we expected a very long wait for our food – Amelia came out and apologized for the kitchen being backed up. A few minutes later she arrived with our entrees. Food was excellent. The Capri is clearly being well managed by a very competent staff.

Very interesting experience. I had previously been to the old downtown location a couple times and everything was very nice. Decided on a whim to try the new Capri during their first weekend with indoor dining. Had to wait a bit for a table and service was a bit slow as well. I got a pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, while my boyfriend had the Marsala Pasta with special salad. His meal supposedly came with bread (according to the menu) but we eventually had to ask for bread after it was never brought. The pizza seemed different than the old Capri pizza. There used to be a distinct wine flavor that now seems to be missing, and the crust was a bit tough. And the cheese was so think I felt like I was chewing though a mozzarella stick, especially when it had cooled slightly. The special salad was fine, although the sausage was a bit dry and the dressing was a bit bland. The Marsala Pasta was very good though, and the chicken in it was extremely excellent. I wish I could order just a pile of that chicken. We got tiramisu as well, which was very good.

The new dining room is gorgeous and very spacious. The patio was festive and beautiful with igloos you can enjoy in winter time. The ambiance at the bar is stellar and I will be back to relax on a sofa and order a whiskey ice cream cocktail! The food was made well and the service was very efficient. The waitress was so sweet when we ordered a piece of cake for a birthday, she brought it out with a lighted candle. We really appreciated the gesture! and the birthday boy couldn’t have been happier with his favorite pizza and chocolate cake with a candle 🙂 lol.

Great new location, service was great also but pizza has changed slightly. I think it’s different sausage. The old pizza had a spice that made Capri pizza distinguish from any other. It still good but out with the old, in with the new, I guess!

This is (still) the best restaurant in Rockford. We are so happy it is back, and it is truly better than ever. We went for New Year’s Eve dinner, and our server was wonderful: the best restaurant server we have had in years. The atmosphere was equally as wonderful and welcoming, but the food…even better than expected! Our dinners and desserts were delicious, piping hot, and clearly made from scratch. We are so happy our NYE tradition is back in business!
