Pecan waffle was full of large pieces of pecans. I wish I had ordered it crispy, but it was still pretty good. Our eggs were cooked to order. We got there when it was really busy, and the people who were there before us left the booth and menus a mess. Our server cleaned everything for us and we both enjoyed breakfast.

A sign of a good place to eat is the number of people inside. This particular Waffle House was packed! A friendly staff and a cheerful atmosphere when we walked in. Luckily got a booth and ordered right a way.

My friend and I were taking a long trip and stopped here because the reviews were so good, but unfortunately, we didn’t have that experience. When we got there, every table was full and 1 had dirty dishes on it, so the server, Jess, told us to take a seat at the “waiting chairs” and she’ll get it cleaned for us. 10 minutes later, that table was still untouched and when I saw her just standing around, I asked if we could sit there and she actually raised her voice and yelled at me in front of the whole restaurant. Everyone was looking at us, unbelievable. After our interaction, I sat back down to wait for a table. Another server (Kari) cleared her table for us and took great care of us, even when there was plastic in my friend’s food. And even though, we were in someone else’s section, Jess STILL managed to come over and bother us with her awful attitude! Then I watched her treat everyone who worked there terribly! Why is this woman still working there?! She’s a terrible asset to the restaurant.

What a great Waffle House. Super clean, which you can spot the minute you walk in. Super friendly staff. Erica treated us so great and really made our late night meal fun. The food was picture perfect, hot and presented well. We ended up staying for an hour we enjoyed our visit so much. Big thanks!

A NEW UPDATE: Just got into Darien this past Monday and had the pleasure of being served by the delightful SABRINA and a deeeelishusss BREAKFAST MELT prepared by chef MARISSA.
As stated below an very early morning visit to the WAFFLE HOUSE before a long day’s drive is a uplifting start to the day!!! How these service industry can be so friendly so early in the morning is definitely a compliment to them as well as them representing their company.

Each time, during my travels, I have to stop for a short meal I choose the Waffle House. It’s clean. The food is simple but decent. The service has always been great. No, I won’t take a date to the place unless I want to make a bad impression. For me, alone, it’s fine.
