Inaugurated in April 2003 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Boteco do Manolo carries the history in its name, Manuel Barcia Riveiro, a Spanish immigrant who arrived in Brazil in the 50s, is the inspiring character of this history. A cheerful and obstinate man, “Manolo” started his family’s successful trajectory in the restaurant business, where he himself started out as a waiter. The world has turned and today this style of this character is stamped in our restaurants in the care in the kitchen and in our service.

Friendly staff and a very cozy ambience, the restaurant is beautiful and welcoming. It’s not cheap, but portions are generous and well served, which makes it worth it. I eat here often and genuinely enjoy the experience.
My only complaint is about weekends: individual plates are available during the week, but not on weekends. If you’re dining alone, you either have to order a larger dish, pay more, and take leftovers home, or settle for appetizers or a “escondidinho”.
Still a great place overall, especially if you’re not eating solo.

Amazing experience at Boteco do Manolo! The food was absolutely delicious, authentic, and full of flavor. A special shoutout to our server J.B. outstanding service, super attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. Everything came out perfectly and the atmosphere was great. On my review (below) I said “I think I will not come back” but after reading your response, I am 100% sure I will never come back for saying things that were not true. First, I don’t know who the manager is as no one, other than the waitress came to my table. Second, there was never an option to change the dish. I would have preferred another dish than the salty and plain rice that was served to me. I spent $38 dollars on white rice with cheese and a pineapple juice. Additionally, I was very nice on my previous review, as I should have said that the waiters and waitresses should guide a first time client better, instead of letting the person choose something they clearly don’t know, even the portions.

I order a pineapple juice no ice and it came with ice. I needed to ask to take the ice and they did it. I was a bit confused with the menu as it is huge! Plenty of options. Maybe some pictures on the menu would have been easier. I ordered a risotto with cheese. It is huge, but it looks too much when you have it in front of you. I lost appetite. Also, it was very salty, in my opinion. I served just a few spoons and couldn’t eat more as it was too salty. It also had some black or green spots, easier to see on a white dish. I didn’t like that either. I told them it was salty and the only answer was “oh, really?”. Now I have a big box of salty rice to take with me. I think I will not come back.

We were lucky to get a table, all of them are reserved on 7/4.
But the server should remind non Brazilian guests about the portion, it’s HUGE. Two portions can feed 3 people. Their appetizer is huge too.
Also be aware of adding cheese and bacon on the steaks, it gets too salty for me. Sauce and steak is very yummy already 🙂

I hadn’t been in a Brazilian restaurant before..the place is a little bit pricey for me..but it was a work reunion so I had to tag along..anyways..all the appetizers were really good and they came in big portions as well..serves were very serviceable and nice..I highly recommended but for me..this is a very special occasion place..hope you can enjoy!

I visited Boteco do Manolo this past Monday night, and honestly, it turned into one of those unexpected dining experiences you don’t forget. It was late, I was hungry, and this was basically the only restaurant still open nearby. I had never tried Brazilian food before, but I decided to give it a shot. and I’m really glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the hostesses welcomed me right away and made me feel comfortable. Then I met Fernando, our waiter, and he completely changed the experience for me. Since it was my first time there, I had no idea what to order. Fernando patiently explained the menu, gave suggestions, and never rushed me. You could tell he genuinely cared that I had a good experience. He recommended the Brazilian picanha, and wow. the food was incredible. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. I’m pretty picky when it comes to food, so I don’t say that lightly.But what really stood out wasn’t just the amazing food. it was Fernando’s service. He was warm, attentive, and truly welcoming in a way that made me feel at home even though it was my first visit. That kind of hospitality is rare.I left impressed, became an instant fan, and have already recommended this place to several friends. For my fellow Americans who want to try authentic Brazilian cuisine and a fantastic barbecue experience, this place is absolutely worth it.

The staff went above and beyond to take care of everyone at my table — the service was outstanding from beginning to end. My guests were extremely happy and kept complimenting how well we were treated.

I have go to this restaurant a few times. And have seen some inconsistency is the past, but this time it’s was too much. Our picanha was so tough, so overcooked. It was cut incorrectly for sure. I don’t know if prices are too high of everything, and the quality just keeps going down,but if you are going to charge an arm and a leg for everything please serve good quality. I had sent back half because it was overcooked, and the other two slices were too hard. I’m not sure why quality of restaurants in Florida have gone done so much.

We’ve been driving past this place for months but the sign is hidden from the road so we always wondered what was there. Tonight we decided to drive into the center and to check it out. Such an amazing and diverse Brazilian menu. The staff was great and the food outstanding. The quality and diversity of the menu makes this a restaurant to want to go back to in order to try other items.
