Fantastic food in a historic building. Our table shared a mouth watering cinnamon roll. For breakfast I went with ham & eggs served with biscuits and gravy. My wife had an excellent western omelet. Friends went with hashbown casserole. Everything was excellent! Service was great too. A nice selection of gifts also.

Good, made from scratch breakfast!
The stuffed French toast is our favorite but everything I’ve eaten from here has been delicious. They are in a little shack of a old house and I love it!
They have great desserts too.
I haven’t been yet, but they have a bakery right down the road too.
Make sure you go hungry!

From the moment of entry I knew we had picked the right place. Or server was happy to see us and was very efficient bring coffee and food out. The food was next level, and the cinnamon roll was like (lay down to eat good).

Such a cool place to make a spur of the moment decision to have a girl’s day breakfast. The food was good, atmosphere was nostalgic, & the service was quick. Rory is keeping Joey’s spirit alive in such a sweet way. We had stuffed French toast w/ bacon & scrambled eggs, & a bacon-egg biscuit w/home fries. The biscuit was actually a roll which jazzed it up a bit . A unique time which will be a repeat visit.

Worth the stop to eat at this little restaurant. Food was good and lots of it. I couldn’t eat all I had on my plate. There are homemade cinnamon rolls too. The people at our table got strawberry cake and Coca-Cola cake to go. Both looked delicious. I would come back to Marcy Jo’s if I am in town ever again. Google maps is kind of strange getting you there from the west. You can not drive straight across bear creek road to get to it, so you might think about a turn South on 431 and doing a U turn down the road a ways or thinking about waiting for traffic to clear in both directions and cross 431 right at the intersection but traffic might prevent it.

Stopped for the 1st time after cowboy church today and had a great breakfast for lunch. They were out of bacon unfortunately, but nonetheless, it was delicious and good value for the price! I had the stuffed french toast, which was huge and presented pretty, as you can see.. plus eggs and sausage. Great comfort food in a friendly atmosphere. It is the most adorable little room!

Delicious southern food and awesome hospitality. We both had the catfish special for lunch and subbed onion rings for one of the white bean sides. Our favorite was the catfish, hush puppies, and the onion rings. The coleslaw and beans were good, not a thing wrong with them, just not as striking to us.

My wife and I have been listening to Joey & Rory’s music for a while now. My has been wanting to get to their restaurant but never seem to be anywhere near it. We finally had a delivery within 40 miles so we finally had our chance. Being truck drivers it’s very hard to stop at most places because of parking. Well there is a Dollar General within walking distance. The manage was okay with us parking in their lot.
So here it is, we get to the restaurant ( Marcy Jo’s Mealhouse ) it’s an old country building set in a small town. There were customers sitting out on the front porch waiting for a seat. We went inside and were greeted by a very pleasant very polite young lady that made us feel like we were at home. We sat outside on the porch and waited for a table.
We were called inside and sat at this very old metal kitchen table. The inside is set up to make you feel at home, it even has a country store upstairs. It was Sunday morning. The morning menu is very simple. We ordered a very goid home cooked breakfast, everything was perfect. Excellent food and service, you cannot ask for anything more. At the check we decided to get a piece of home German chocolate cake and a piece of coca cola cake both were perfect.
We were both very pleased that we took the time to stop in, we will most definitely be going back.
So if you just happen to find yourself in the neighborhood and you are hungry and you are tired of the same out chain restaurants and fast food by all means stop in at Marcy Jo’s Mealhouse. It’s like stepping back into time. It’s definitely worth the stop.
Enjoy.
