TLDR: skip it and go to a different location. It will be worth the extra drive. Or just go down the street to Bella’s, their pizza is amazing.
I really wanted to be able to leave a good review here because I love Minsky’s pizza and the one in Blue Springs is fabulous. As a matter of fact, I’ve never had a bad experience at any Minsky’s pizza that I can recall, no matter the location. That is until today.
I was in the area for an appointment, so I decided to stop here for lunch on my way home. I’m very sorry that I did. I walked in and initially the hostess was a little bit short, but it appeared that she was flustered and possibly overworked. She sat me at a table, gave me a menu, and I waited for the waitress. Well at the table, I noticed that the shakers were damaged and dirty. Also, the table was very wobbly. I attempted to fix it by putting a huge stack of napkins underneath, but I did not have enough napkins to help. I will try to attach a video. Still waiting on the waitress. I had been there about 10 minutes, so I moved myself to the next table over. I had to gather cheese and peppers from other tables to bring to mine. Again, the shakers were damaged.
The waitress came over to take my order and I asked for a Coke and a medium prime cut with extra sauce. It took 30 minutes to get my food, only for it to arrive burned to a crisp. As in sections of it were completely blackened, and some of the bacon was almost charcoal and crumbled if you barely touched it.
I tried to be a good sport and eat it anyway, but the burnt taste was throughout, so it was in edible. It took another eight minutes to get the waitresses attention and call her over, and she appeared very annoyed that I had asked her to come by. When I showed her the pizza that was burned and asked if they could please remake it, she looked at me with a dead pan face and said “no” in a very snarky voice. Not an apology, not an explanation, just “no.” at this point I got annoyed and I responded that I would just gather my things and leave then because I was not going to eat pizza with carcinogenic charcoal all the way around it, and she then replied well that’s how we cook our bacon. Mind you I’ve had the same pizza at every Minsky’s I’ve gone to and don’t have the issue of the Crumbled, charcoal, bacon, or the burned and blackened crust. She started blubbering, and I said that if they could not remake that one and do it without burning it that I would be willing to take a combo with extra sauce. She said “fine” and grab the pizza and stormed off.
While waiting for my new Pizza, I flagged down the hostess when she walked by and asked if she would grab the manager. The manager came out and I explained to him what had happened and he apologized and said he would talk to the waitress after I left to avoid any more unpleasantness for me. I told him thank you and just a few minutes later, the hostess brought my new pizza out and refilled my drink. I was glad that it was not my waitress because honestly, I was worried she might spit in it. She was still out in the dining area when my pizza came out though, so it was fine. The new pizza was perfect so I ate in peace. The waitress came over and asked if I needed a box and a refill, I said yes to the box no to the refill.
The hostess brought my check by and I went to check out with my leftover pizza. I noticed when I got to the checkout that the manager had actually charge me as an employee which got me a pretty steep discount so that was very nice of him and made the experience a little bit better. I paid my bill, made sure that the staff does not share tips, and gave the hostess a hefty tip and told her to make sure she did not share it with the waitress who was terrible. I’m not usually one to skimp on tips, and in fact I’ve been known to tip up to 50% for someone who did an exceptional job, but this waitress was nothing but snarky and rude. I guess she may have been having a bad day, but you can’t expect your customers to tip you well when you’re nasty to them.

We’ve eaten at other Minsky’s locations before but this was our first time at this location. The customer service could have been better. Our party of 14 got there a little after 8pm tonight (they close at 10pm) and we were the only customers in the main room. There was a private event in the other room. Our waitress wasn’t the friendliest, food was okay, women’s restroom was out of paper towels, male urinal was out of order. Also, the Gourmet Hawaiian pizza didn’t have sweet chili sauce on it and the Jumbo wings weren’t jumbo at all. Probably the last time we eat at this location.

Far by the worst pepperoni cupped and Italian sausage pizza I have ever had. It came 12 minutes from the location and my pizza tasted like it was leftovers from yesterday. Everything was cold and tasted old. Who knows, but what a waste of money. Will never order this again or recommend it. Thus far best pizza in Lee’s Summit is nit this place! Again I got an old, cold medium pepperoni and italian sausage pizza that if I had dogs they would have not eaten. I would have 0 stars if allowed.

This place has great food. We were supposed to have a server lady but she was rude to the front door guy, so he ended up serving us which was better.. She was being a lilttle too mouthy to the cook as well. I tried to have a conversation and couldn’t hear myself think.

I’ve ordered the same calzone 3 times now, and it was great the first time, second time it was burnt, and 3rd time was missing half the ingredients, small almost child size really. The odd thing is my wife’s calzone is always perfect. So how does the same restaurant, same cooks, mess up one and get the other one right? I am very disappointed.

I’m serious when I say this. I love pizza. Even bad pizza, I will still eat. However, I couldn’t take more than 2 bites and having to spit the 2nd one out. My wife did the same. This was the worst pizza I have ever had in my life. Not even joking. The top was burnt, but the crust was like literal sandwich bread. Never experienced this before. It was like they took a frozen precooked pizza crust and thawed it, put the toppings on it, then heated it up. What makes it worse is the price, the service, and the 48 min wait with an infant baby for a takeout pizza. We came in and waited almost 10 minutes to get help. Eventually we went to the receptionist and asked for help. She said she would send someone. Took another 6 more minutes after that. The bartender came in and out of the room 3 times and didn’t even tell us it would be a second or apologize. Then, I timed it as soon as we ordered and it took 32 minutes to bring it out. We’ve been excited to try this place since we moved here since we’ve heard that it’s a staple in the community and has been around for a long time.

This is my go to spot for pizza. The calzones are . The pizza is good too. I would recommend the Prime cut or combo for the pizza and the jumbo combo or the combo for the calzone. I’ve been going to Minsky’s for a long time and may have had a few bad experiences. But overall this is the spot. I wish they would deliver in my neighborhood too.

Ordered from this location. Never had a problem with service. Ordered for delivery and pizza was left on the porch strike 1 because I didn’t leave my money and my tip on the ground at the restaurant. Strike 2 was a slice of the pizza was half way in the box and sticking out of the box. Additionally the pizza was NOT hot. Will NOT be ordering from Minsky’s again. $57 for bad service is not worth it in this economy. Pizza choices are too numerous to sacrifice on service.

I was chilling in my car waiting on my pizza to be made. They (she) actually brought it out to me. That’s awesome! The other one on 291 severed me one with a penny in it. Literally. I’ll never go back there! She accused me of wanting a “free” pizza after being a 10 year customer. Unless Manager!

All 3 stars are for the pizza alone. It was good. This location is terrible. We had interactions with 3 employees and not a single on was good. Greeted at the front door not with a hello, but just asking if there were 2 of us and walking off. A server stopped and once again no hello, just what do you want to drink. She acted bothered to have a table. Finally, another server came over about 10 minutes later to take our order. It baffles me that people who work for tips dont have the sense to be nice. You woukd make so much more money. Love Minsky’s, but will never come to this hot mess, dirty mop water smelling location.
