So my husband and I have been coming here for years and just recently we have been noticing they have some new chefs that I guess aren’t as good as cooking as the others and you can’t pick your chef so we usually wait until the one we want is up next in rotation before we sit down. That being said. Tonight we took a huge gamble and ordered take out. Let me tell you this was the biggest waist of $151 I have ever spent. The food is horrible. The rice tastes like it was cooked in a dirty pan with dish water but my husband says his tastes like it was cooked after fish. The only edible part was the shrimp and the veggies. We ordered the lovers dinner for 2 so that means the steak the scallops the lobster and the rice was all cooked horrible. My kids only eat the rice and when they tried it they were really upset it tasted so nasty they didn’t want to eat it and I was upset at first and thought maybe they had to many snacks and it was just bs until I took a bite and had to spit it out. Even my sushi rolls tasted off. So out of a $151 meal we could only eat the salad and soup and we ate half the sushi and the shrimp and some of the veggies. My husband doesn’t eat veggies so all he ate was the shrimp and he managed to get down his half of his lobster. After all of this I called fujiama and let them know what was going on and they said the only thing they could offer me was a 20% discount the next time I come and eat there. 20% is a complete joke and to not be reimbursed is even more of a joke. I told them I would bring all the food back we didn’t really eat any of it and I expect to lose like $30 out of what I paid but to be told I’m taking a complete loss for this horrible meal then to be told I could only get a 20% discount when that’s the same deal the offer in the clippers add is disgusting. These people are absolutely horrible and we will never eat there again. It went from being our favorite go to place to eat to I will never spend my hard earned money there again. I can’t believe they really went that savage behind horrible food. Not to mention completely horrible for business trying to keep the customer coming back after this mistake

If you sit at the grill they add 18% gratuity even if it’s just two of you. Don’t get me wrong it was very delicious and he did a great job.

I did not eat bc for some reason I couldn’t be seated at the hibachi table because I was by myself! I waited for more people to come and got tired of waiting!! I mean it shouldn’t matter if it was half of a person, you still getting 18% gratuity! I left disappointed, plus I dont even live in this area, i drove all the way here to not be able to be seated!! And the young girl up front needs to be nice like the other lady, she would have never!! I eat there by myself all the time! I wont be coming back!

I went here for a friend’s birthday dinner. I have a severe seafood allergy and some others at the dinner were having seafood, so my food needed to be cooked separately to avoid any possible cross-contamination. I ordered the steak and chicken hibachi dinner and when it came out, everything looked great. However, after I took a few bites, I started to feel a reaction. I waited it out for a few minutes because I wasn’t completely sure if I was having an allergic reaction. After waiting for a bit more, I decided to completely stop eating the meal because I could feel my throat start swelling up. I called over one of the servers to let them know the situation, so they asked if I would like for my meal to be remade, but I decided it wasn’t worth having them do that because they clearly could not be trusted to not cross-contaminate after the first meal, so I told them to just take it back and remove it from my bill. A few minutes later, another lady appeared- she may have been the manager, but I’m unsure. She basically told me there was no way I could be having a reaction since they told the chefs to do everything separately- to which I told her I know how I’m feeling and I can tell when I’m having an allergic reaction. She told me because they were about to close they could not completely remove it from bill and the most they could do was either have it remade or only take 20% off my bill! At this point, I walked out of the restaurant because I could not believe they were trying to charge me for something that if I had continued to eat would have likely resulted in a trip to the hospital. I let my boyfriend pay and decided that I’ll never be returning to this restaurant. Clearly, this place lacks the care and detail orientation that they should have when it comes to cross-contamination and allergies. Do not eat here if you have any severe allergies to seafood, because they do not care about their customers’ well-beings at all!

This is my family’s favorite sushi stop in Slidell! It never disappoints and has beautiful sashimi presentations.

I recently visited this sushi restaurant, and my experience was quite mixed. The fish was good, without being exceptional – I would rate it 5 stars for the presentation and texture, although it wasn’t quite what I’m used to in other restaurants.

The main downside was the payment process. The waiter was very kind and professional, which created a pleasant atmosphere. However, the lady at the cashier was much less accommodating. When contactless payment with my French bank card didn’t work, I suggested inserting the card instead, but she refused, claiming both methods were the same — which is not true. In the end, my wife had to pay in cash, leaving a bitter feeling at the end of the meal.

Overall, the food was decent, but the cashier’s attitude, which only deserves 3 stars, spoiled what could have been a much better experience. I hope this point will be considered to improve the service in the future.

We got the choose 3 sushi rolls lunch special (eel and cucumber, snow crab, tempura shrimp), chicken katsu dinner, and tempura appetizer. It was all absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to return! Their sushi is much better priced than my local sushi restaurant and it’s much higher quality

We went for my cousin’s birthday dinner, party of 11. The food was ok, refills were slow, had to request them, and tbh I wasn’t happy when the chef poured “Sake” all over half of my face, which went right down my shirt. That’s actually not funny. I mean, it kinda is now, but still

My actual complaint is the *forced*, *mandatory*, non-disclosure of the 18% tip, no matter the size of the party. The waiter was ok, but 18%? To me 18-20% tips are reserved for excellent service, not mediocre. Be fore-warned, and report to the credit card company if it happens to you! Shame on you Fuji! Wow. Will never go back there again.

I’ve tried several dishes here, and would bet anything these people have never been to Japan or eaten proper Japanese food. The katsu was unrecognizable as such, The unagi-don has a sharply tart sauce that doesn’t resemble unagi sauce, etc. Wish I knew where to get authentic Japanese cuisine around here…
