Great service and huge portions. Came for national pancake day left with this. Best chicken and waffles ever. Husband had the Pork Scnitzel which he was raving about. We signed up for rewards and got $10.00 off for our first time. We will definitely be back!!! 10/10 breakfast gem

I recently had lunch at Milts. This sparkly clean restaurant is a wonderful place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. The servers here are always pleasant and extremely efficient.
During a recent visit, I opted for a Cafe French Dip with crinkle cut fries as well as a house salad with Milts house vinaigrette ( my favorite) . My companion ordered a French Basque soup, which was loaded with fresh vegetables in a steaming hot tomato broth. According to my companion , the soup was very hot and satisfying .
My Cafe French Dip was loaded with lean roast beef and served on a soft, and fresh Pyrenees roll. The French Dip was served with a delicious side of crispy, golden crinkle cut fries and a deli style dill pickle wedge. Delicious!
I would also like to commend our excellent and efficient server , Avery.
This is truly a wonderful place to dine. A true local treasure!

Honest review, I went for a to go order. Biscuits and gravy and the chicken fried steak with gravy. I asked for it to be extra crispy. When I got home they only gave us one gravy when it was supposed to come with two. The hash browns were soggy as well as the steak it was wet and mushy… thought the atmosphere was great but food was cooked very poorly

We were so excited to visit Milt’s after spending time at home in London researching authentic diner lunch spots on route from L.A. to Sequoia. We were not disappointed. Everything from the decor and ambience to the exceptional service (shout out to the lovely Margo!) and the delicious home cooked food exceeded our already high expectations. We have 5 more days on the road but I suspect I’ll be wishing for more stops at Milt’s as we go. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

What a gem! I’m in Bakersfield for work, staying by the airport which doesn’t have many options nearby. But there’s Milt’s! I admit, I have a soft spot for classic American diners, but this one is really above average!
The service was excellent! I was greeted warmly, and the staff were friendly and attentive for my whole visit.
The restaurant is very clean inside, with that classic, welcoming diner feel, and it appears well kept.
On to the food! I had the chicken fried steak dinner, which came with a salad (or soup), warm bread roll, two sides, and a huge chicken fried steak, for only $25 – what a value! The breading was pretty crisp, and the steak was very tender, like cut with a fork tender. I also liked the sauteed veggies, they were a little oily but were tasty and well seasoned, definitely a step up from the usual steamed sides.
If you’re ever nearby or passing by on 99 and craving a hearty meal, skip the chains and head to Milt’s!

Went with my wife and kids today And we were able to eat some amazing food and had very very excellent service. The server we had was very personable and extremely kind. The food was clean excellently prepared and very very delicious. Even though the places in a bad area you can’t even tell because how clean and well kept they keep the establishment.
