We chose Alice because the Kimmel Center recommended it as one of the restaurants close by to dine at before the Philadelphia Orchestra performance. It was phenomenal! Apparently the owners are from Italy and they imported an Italian pizza oven to make their pizza more authentic! The fried Gnocchi melted in your mouth. The meatball appetizer was scrumptious and the sauce was excellent! My personal Margherita pizza was absolutely delicious and the crust took me right back to Italy. My son had the Amatriciana entree and he loved it!!

The Amatriciana pasta is the best I’ve had so far here in the States (with the exception of when I make it at home). The “homemade long thick Semolina Pici pasta” used is excellent – much better than the typical dried pasta. It was cooked just right and nicely chewy. As for the sauce… that was quite good, though different from what I’ve been served in Rome. The sauce was full of little chunks of meat (my guess would be pancetta, though perhaps it was a mild guanciale). I’m used to fewer, larger pieces of guanciale (ideally crunchy, though usually not). So it was a good pork-based meat sauce, just a bit atypical for Amatriciana IMHO.

The Pachino E Bufala Mozzarella pizza was also very good. The pizza crust was the standout rather than the toppings. Crust is light and crisp, not thin, and has a noticeable sourdough flavor. We are definitely looking forward to trying more of their pizza again because we really enjoy this style of pizza crust. Atmosphere and service here are both pleasant. The pastries in the display counter look great and will tempt you. Also gelato. Have not tried it yet but it looks amazing.

Roma style pizza is my absolute favourite style of pizza so was super happy to come across this pizzeria in Philly.

Great value and we enjoyed a quick slice before the opera. Will be back very soon!

Had this on my list of places to try, but I don’t know why. Glad I did, it was excellent. Pizza was outstanding. Get the Philly Special. We tried 4 different slices and all were good. The 4 cheese/mushroom was also outstanding. Finished with a piece of cheesecake and some gelato. Well done Alice.

The food is quite good. Pasta is Al dente. Pesto is excellent. The portions are a decent size. Ask the server about what the pasta that was made that day is, then order it.

Server is a little overwhelmed. Maybe one of the people behind the counter can help?

The music is too loud for the environment. I don’t want to hear “Paradise City” while eating dinner. It subtracts from the atmosphere.

Prices are excellent. We had 3 drinks, apps, pasta, dessert and espresso. $122 with tip. Not bad.

Wow!!! This is my favorite meal of this trip! It was bustling and there was a wait-good signs! The spinach salad tasted like fall and the diavola pizza was simple but exquisite. The crust was thin and crunchy and the salami and cheese was paired perfectly!! Magnifico!!

I’ve been here twice and had two different pizzas and salads. Everything was absolutely delightful. The salads are fresh and well balanced between greens and unique ingredients. The pizzas have a fabulous crunch and generous toppings. The Philly Special was unlike any pizza I have ever had, although I think I preferred the Diavola.

They call them “personal” pizzas, and I finished mine both times, but you could easily split for two people.
Next time I will have to take a friend to share so I can leave room for dessert (the pastries and gelato look amazing, but I have always been too full to try).

Been here a third time. It’s the same chain restaurant they have in Rome for pizza al taglio. They weigh each piece to get the final price. First time I’m actually going to the dining part, as it is separated from where you get the pizza. Since my family didn’t get the feel of pasta from the previous night’s dinner, we all ordered pasta. We had the amateurish, pesto, cacio e Pepe, and gnocchi. All tasted great. They actually used guanciale on the amatriciana for an authentic meal. The cacio e pepe tasted great. Although I think they used bucatini instead of tonarelli. Service was great. Our server was super attentive.

If you want pizza served in a very similar way to small pizza joints in Italy, this is the place to go. The pizza tastes great too, and has a nice crunch to it. If you want the true authentic Italian experience, put the slices on top of one another in a sandwich style and eat it that way
