To start, the chips and queso dip were a great way to ease into the meal. The queso was warm and velvety, with just enough kick to keep each bite interesting, and the chips were crisp and plentiful—ideal for sharing while we waited for our entrées.
The pigs in a blanket were another standout appetizer. Often a simple dish, these were executed with finesse the bread was golden and crisp without a hint of burn, while the hotdog inside was perfectly cooked, juicy and warm. It’s rare to see such attention to detail in a comfort classic.
For the main course, the Parmesan-crusted chicken stood out. The crust had a satisfying crunch and rich flavor, beautifully complemented by the house dressing that added a tangy, herbaceous lift. It was a pairing that felt thoughtfully composed.
Service throughout the evening was top tier attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely warm. The staff made the birthday feel special without overdoing it, striking that perfect balance of celebration and relaxation.
We are not sure if it was the food or the margarita mix that made us sick, but we were unfortunately dealing with upset stomachs and feeling nauseous for the remainder of the night.
I’ve previously had a nice brunch at Lakehouse in the summer, but would use caution if you order any of the dishes or drinks mentioned.
We thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips, which were perfectly crispy and flavorful, the salmon, cooked to perfection and incredibly fresh, and a refreshing Caesar salad. Every single dish was simply delicious. The attentive service also made the night even more special.
I highly recommend it for a special occasion or just for a memorable meal with spectacular views and a welcoming ambiance!
Ok so she comes and is kinda rude. I’m assuming it just wasn’t her day yet…running late, comes right in to a table assignment (or 2), and not quite ready to work yet. Eventually, she warms up to us, or work, or something. When she begins delivering our food, she’s making small talk, etc. We were surprised but glad her mood changed.
Ok, to the food. The short rib French dip is the absolute winner here! It is a lot stacked in that sandwich. It was just amazing The lemon parmesan with the arugula “salad” was simply ok. 2 of us ordered that and 2 of us were not pleased. I was told the hot chicken sandwich was a win! The cocktails were good.
The atmosphere was cool. I’d return but I would definitely not get the lemon parm again. The short rib is 1st place for sure! Oh and the heavenly biscuits are appropriately named. They were indeed heavenly
We had a reservation for a table of six on a cold, snowy night in Cleveland, with parking at $15 per couple. The server was barely attentive—empty drinks and plates were never cleared, even after we moved them to the side of the table.
That said, the appetizers and food were tasty. My walleye was quite small (about the size of a perch), though I understand the lake is frozen this time of year.
There was an automatic service charge, the bill could not be split by couple, and we were charged for substitutions that should have been disclosed when we asked about them.
With proper training for the young gentleman who served us, this could be a fantastic place—especially in the summer. As it stands, the service overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable evening.
