I recently celebrated a birthday at The Lakehouse in Cleveland, and the experience was nothing short of delightful.

To start, the chips and queso dip were a great way to ease into the meal. The queso was warm and velvety, with just enough kick to keep each bite interesting, and the chips were crisp and plentiful—ideal for sharing while we waited for our entrées.

The pigs in a blanket were another standout appetizer. Often a simple dish, these were executed with finesse the bread was golden and crisp without a hint of burn, while the hotdog inside was perfectly cooked, juicy and warm. It’s rare to see such attention to detail in a comfort classic.

For the main course, the Parmesan-crusted chicken stood out. The crust had a satisfying crunch and rich flavor, beautifully complemented by the house dressing that added a tangy, herbaceous lift. It was a pairing that felt thoughtfully composed.

Service throughout the evening was top tier attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely warm. The staff made the birthday feel special without overdoing it, striking that perfect balance of celebration and relaxation.

We ordered the chopped salad and Nashville hot chicken sandwich with margaritas for dinner. The quality of the food was comparable to Applebee’s and the margarita had no tequila in it, only the mix.

We are not sure if it was the food or the margarita mix that made us sick, but we were unfortunately dealing with upset stomachs and feeling nauseous for the remainder of the night.

I’ve previously had a nice brunch at Lakehouse in the summer, but would use caution if you order any of the dishes or drinks mentioned.

Atmosphere and service were great. We enjoyed the fried food and the coleslaw! The lake erie walleye was very tasty but it was too buttery/oily when paired with the succotash.

The atmosphere at The Lakehouse is light and airy, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. We started with the “Go Jump in the Lake” and “Spice and Slice” cocktails. Both drinks creative and delicious. For a starter, we ordered the potato chip bucket and were pleasantly surprised by how fresh and flavorful the dip was. For lunch, we tried the pepperoni flatbread, which had a delightful touch of honey on top, and the shrimp & crab Louie, which was packed with meat and had a great blend of flavors. I would definitely come back to try more from the menu. Overall, a great experience!

I was a big fan of this restaurant!! The biscuits were delicious!!! I got the Magnolia short rib bowl which was a 10/10!! The vibes were solid with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Both on the patio and the “indoor patio” with the windows up. Check it out!

I just had an absolutely incredible dining experience at this restaurant! The river view was truly breathtaking, creating such an elegant backdrop for our evening. Despite its sophistication, the atmosphere felt wonderfully cozy and warm, a perfect balance.
We thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips, which were perfectly crispy and flavorful, the salmon, cooked to perfection and incredibly fresh, and a refreshing Caesar salad. Every single dish was simply delicious. The attentive service also made the night even more special.
I highly recommend it for a special occasion or just for a memorable meal with spectacular views and a welcoming ambiance!

If you’re looking for a good riverfront restaurant with good views and good food this is a great choice. The menu is on the small side but the variety and tastes are on the large side. Had the Short Rib French Dip and the South West Chopped Salad and both were big on flavor. The short rib was done perfectly sided with thin cut crispy fries. They carry good NA beers if you’re looking for one too. But have a wide selection of creative cocktails and draft beers. The outside seating is on the river and that is fine visual entertainment. The service was quick and friendly. Overall a very good choice for a meal in the Flats of Cleveland.

We were seated right away. However, we were told that the waitress wasn’t there yet. Oooooook. Apparently that meant that no one was going to even make eye contact with us. It was weird. At least take a drink order but nope, we waited until our waitress came in.
Ok so she comes and is kinda rude. I’m assuming it just wasn’t her day yet…running late, comes right in to a table assignment (or 2), and not quite ready to work yet. Eventually, she warms up to us, or work, or something. When she begins delivering our food, she’s making small talk, etc. We were surprised but glad her mood changed.
Ok, to the food. The short rib French dip is the absolute winner here! It is a lot stacked in that sandwich. It was just amazing The lemon parmesan with the arugula “salad” was simply ok. 2 of us ordered that and 2 of us were not pleased. I was told the hot chicken sandwich was a win! The cocktails were good.
The atmosphere was cool. I’d return but I would definitely not get the lemon parm again. The short rib is 1st place for sure! Oh and the heavenly biscuits are appropriately named. They were indeed heavenly

Great meal on a beautiful night. I over-ordered table size nachos and a spicy Santa Fe salad, but they were both delicious. Fun watching the rowers, and assorted boats on the river. Prices didn’t seem more than comparable restaurants and the portions were shareable.

Unfortunately, the service completely detracted from what could have been a great experience. Our server showed a clear lack of knowledge about the drink menu and gave very little attention or care to our table. The overall level of service was disappointing.

We had a reservation for a table of six on a cold, snowy night in Cleveland, with parking at $15 per couple. The server was barely attentive—empty drinks and plates were never cleared, even after we moved them to the side of the table.

That said, the appetizers and food were tasty. My walleye was quite small (about the size of a perch), though I understand the lake is frozen this time of year.

There was an automatic service charge, the bill could not be split by couple, and we were charged for substitutions that should have been disclosed when we asked about them.

With proper training for the young gentleman who served us, this could be a fantastic place—especially in the summer. As it stands, the service overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable evening.
