Well the long awaited Fish House Cafe…..
My girlfriend and I ordered she had the fish and chicken, I had the fish and shrimp. I tried her chicken and it was fried well and taste worthy. Then I bit into my fish and was very impressed fried to perfection and the taste was like grandma’s if you know you know. The shrimp was average normal and so we’re the krinkle fries…..but they did have the Johnny’s on hand. Everything was made to order hot and fresh and ppl were in and out in good time. I came from CA to see what this was about and honestly I wasn’t let down. Y’all keep pushing the good vibes and good food….an I’ll be back to see if it taste the same

Oh boy! Don’t sleep on the Fish House if you haven’t already been coming here for years. I like the fish sandwich and the chicken sandwich, the cheesesteak is in the conversation for best in town and I’m already thinking about the shrimp po’boy I’m ordering next time I stop by.
Today I went for the fish sandwich subbing catfish and okra. The catfish has great seasoning and just a hint of lemon. Everything is cooked to order, give it about 5 minutes so you don’t burn your face off!

That might be the BEST Philly cheesesteak sandwich I’ve ever had. I actually ate two bites, walked away, and my husband stole it and ate it in a minute or two. He said he was trying really hard to feel even a little bad- but the sandwich was so good he was struggling to find any remorse. My son housed a massive double patty chicken burger before we could even make the drive home. Overall amazing value for the money, seriously delicious food, and they’re always so kind and happy in there. Wish I had another Philly… Guess I’m going back soon!

Absolutely delicious food! We actually ate our 2 piece DELICIOUS fish and chips and then ordered another order of fish. Hush puppies and mac n cheese to take home! The whole experience was a good one! Hands down the best fish I’ve ever eaten! Highly recommend this home cooked food!

Ate here for the 1st time last week. I live in Shelton but have to go to St Joseph for appointments. Tired of going to the same place I googled best food near me and this popped up, I love seafood and this place didn’t disappoint! I ordered the po’boy, thinking it was going to be skimpy on the shrimp I order a little extra (my 1st and only one I have had, had only had 5 little salad shrimp and was terrible). When she handed me the bag I thought this feels heavy for a sandwich. When I opened the box I thought I hit the mother load! You couldn’t even see the bread, so much shrimp and not the little salad ones. Needless to say I couldn’t even eat half of it. The flavor so awesome, like shrimp should taste and not fishy. Everyone I met there were very friendly. Prices were cheap by today’s standards. I will definitely go back and know I don’t need the extra shrimp, lol. Only downfall there is no seating, it’s all to go. But still so worth it!

I discovered this hidden gem just over a year ago while on the hunt for legit fish and chips, and OMGGGG… this place is OFF-THE-CHARTS good.
I am fully audible while eating — “Mmmmm,” “OMG,” “sooooo good” — and yes, there is absolutely a happy dance happening with every bite. The fish is perfectly seasoned (you can request low sodium ), the breading is crisp, light, and never too thick — the fish is truly the star of the show. And the homemade tartar sauce? Chef’s kiss. I always get at least THREE.
When your order is up, it’s HOT and fresh from the fryer — like “will burn your face off” hot if you dive in immediately. I usually sit in my car a few minutes and then savor every bite.
Pro tip: If you’re taking it to-go, open the bag and containers and tuck a few napkins over the food so it doesn’t sweat on the drive. Keeps everything perfectly crisp!
I’ve only tried the fish & chips/fish dinner so far (plus mac n’ cheese aside from the crinkle fries), but the food has been consistently homemade, fresh, and absolutely worth every penny — AND the drive.

This place has food for your soul. That thing you need to fill the void not just hunger but satisfaction. The food is so comforting and flavorful it’s crazy I never heard of them before I went in. I really hope this place the best, so many Black folk in there supporting as well it was really beautiful to see. Great fish sandwich, amazing Philly, Banana pudding slaps, and you must try the hush puppies. They do everything right here just go try it!
