I ordered two garlic cheese fries and they did not come with any cheese on them. I had to put ketchup on my fries when I got home. It’s just not the same when I was expecting the garlic cheese fries I always get. I want a refund but the lady didn’t even give me a receipt after I ordered. Really disappointed. I want what I paid for.
I called them the next day and they replaced the two orders free of charge. I was very pleased with the resolution on this issue. Thank you. I will be back for more food!

I’ve been a regular customer here since I moved to Illinois a few years ago and by now I know not to come a second before 7. I’m not sure if it’s just a placebo affect or if the day time staff is truly this terrible but everytime I eat here before 7 something always goes wrong, whether that my order being completely wrong or dealing with the rude staff or even having to listen to the manager make a fool of themselves with needless outbursts in the back. I cannot stress enough how poor the 12-6 service is in this place. And it only gets marginally better during dinner hours. I will say the only bright lights in this dark pit of a “resturant” are the garlic butter fries and this super polite server with a bob hairdo I can’t quite remember her name but she had piercings, dark hair and everytime I saw her she was smiling and delivering great service. Aside from her id say the rest of the cashiers/servers are either rude or completely disinterested in doing their job

Honestly everything exceeded my expectations! My cheese fries were hot and fresh. The staff members were pretty nice and attentive to their customers. Additionally, my big boy cold submarine sandwich tasted super fresh, packed a delicious punch and it was also very filling (I honestly couldn’t finish it all in one sitting). Overall everything was really good and I plan on returning as soon as I start to crave another sandwich 9/10

I tried them for the first time last night and it was very disappointed. I purchased three sandwiches, 2 turkey subs with everything but one without mustard, and 1 ham sub with everything but no mustard. All three were terribly dry and the meat was overpowering everything else on the sandwich and not in a good way because it tasted sour. I am sooo disappointed that I wasted $40 trusting the reviews.

I moved out of the area so I haven’t been to this place in years. The girl answering the phones on 2-24 acts like she is being bothered by you calling in an order. Her attitude is horrible. Even in person. The food portions are extremely small and the food just doesn’t taste the same. I would not recommend this place anymore. It has definitely gone downhill a long with the customer service

Big Boy was recommended to me by a coworker who had nothing but good things to say about the Corned Beef sandwich and garlic cheese fries from here.
Intrigued, I put it on my list of places to try where it sat for months before I finally visited during the summer of 2025.
I really have to take what my coworker suggests more carefully from now on, this was extremely unenjoyable.
Garlic Cheese Fries were crazy salty, and I couldn’t even finish these. The fries themselves were probably similar to a Checkers/Rallys, but because of the salt overload, it killed what was probably a decent potato.
Corned Beef sandwich was probably the worst Corned Beef Sandwich I’ve ever had. The beef was very poor quality, like Buddig brand lunchmeat. I did somehow finish this, but was very unhappy with the sandwich.
I won’t be returning.

The garlic fries are unmatched by any fry distributor. The Gyros are fresh lamb meat no mixtures and the service is authentic. I love Big Boys. We come just to eat here some weekends!!!!
