Came on Saturday around 3:45 p.m. with my husband. The place was busy, and both the host and server were working really hard.
The host even helped run food! My husband decided to make a reservation for 4:15 p.m. so we could sit outside by the riverfront. The vibe was pretty casual, kind of like a bar where you can catch a game near the counter. Occasionally, you could smell a bit of gas from the boat motors, but it didn’t last long. The food was okay, but the service was amazing.

Very nice hidden gem. Great location, overseeing Sacramento river. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. A space for rent for event with stage and its own bar. Restrooms are clean.
Parking is a bit narrow between cars.
Be careful if wearing high heels as it has a bit stairs to go down from parking lot to the front door of the restaurant.

This is the most beautiful place to grab some excellent seafood! The steaming bowl of clams, shrimp, mussels and cod was amazing! I would recommend going just before sunset the view is incredible! Doesn’t get any better then Crawdads by the river! Will return!

Crawdads on the River has an unbeatable location—there’s really nothing better than dining right on the water. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype or the price. Based on the reviews, we were expecting much better. The calamari was just okay, but the accompanying sauce was unpleasant, to put it mildly. The clam chowder was a major letdown—bland and lacking flavor. Honestly, even a can of Progresso clam chowder would’ve been more satisfying. It’s a great spot to enjoy the view, but don’t come expecting a great meal. The atmosphere today was sad, too quiet. Service good, the our waitress didn’t seem surprised we didn’t finish the calamari.

This is a hopping little joint! Walking across the river was pretty neat to get to it. So if you have a handicap access I would call first to see if it is available because I didn’t see one.. The food was fantastic and the service was very quick and even though they were super busy she was very attentive to me. I was a single diner traveling from Michigan and I would definitely return if I ever come back

We had a great day at Crawdads on the River! The weather was beautiful and the vibe was super cool. Ordered fish n chips, steak and shrimp kabobs, ceviche and crawdads… everything tasted wonderful. The drinks were tasty, service was good and I’m excited to go back.

Met my friend here for a quick lunch date on a Thursday. There were about 15 people there. The waitress wasn’t very friendly maybe said two words and sat us down. She gave us our menus and left. It took 23 minutes for anyone to come over after that. I wanted to get up and go to Chevy’s instead. But my friend insisted we stay and that I would like the food. The food was good but I’m not sure if come back. I may give them another chance but I’m definitely checking out that Chevy’s first. Location was amazing because of the water view.

Tonight, I had the Cubano with a salad…solid food, nothing mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable. The real star here is the view, which is always on point. The staff is friendly, and service is great, making the overall experience smooth and pleasant.
