Omg; loved Frankie’s Deli! We moved here from the east coast and have tried so many places to find delicious subs like we were used to to. Frankie’s delivered; their subs were delicious and the rolls soft yet crusty! We also loved all of the food they sold including fresh lunch meat/cheeses, the ‘to go’ meals, and many Italian ingredients/spices. We bought pasta, bread and Italian cookies! You can buy bottles of beer and wine to enjoy with your meal! I can’t wait to go back! We had the American cold cut and meatball sub today!

The many italian delis in The City are foundations in their neighborhood and have been established for well over a half century or more. This place in Oakbrook did not give me this vibe because this place looked modern and felt a bit like “big box”.

However, the sandwiches stayed true to form with the italian tradition of nice portions, quality meats and artisanal breads.

Their italian sausage on schiacciatia (a Tuscan flatbread often compared to a less fluffy focaccia) was full of flavor combined with the delicate bread. The tart rapini was an exvellent contrast in texture to the meat and its saltiness.

Their signature meatball sandwich was excellent! Meatballs was super soft and meaty with great spices. The marinara and cheese all in the hearty french roll held up well to the portion of food.

The staff was attentive and friendly!

Beautiful ambience, plenty of parking, great landscape and the SMELLS are what hits you before you ever walk in the door! Enter into an area filled with every Italian ingredient, oil, sausage etc you could ever need. And then you see it the area wh where the yummy starts…the deli a great menu filled with ready to eat items, sausages, cheeses and of course sandwiches & salads. Made to order is available as well as a large variety of drink choices. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful if you’re looking for ideas for a special event or dinner or appetizer choices. This is a MUST & bring your appetite!

Food is amazing! But every time I go there the lady that checks us out is unpleasant the receipt says her name is Jennifer. She never says thank you have a good day to me but says it to every other customer not even eye contact just hands the receipt to me, I even said thank you and was completely ignored. Everyone else is very nice and the service is quick always in and out. If it wasn’t for the lady being rude I would have rated it a 5 star for service.

I went here with a very weird order. I’m making a video game about sandwiches. They handled my request both over the phone and in person with a great kindness. Answered all of my questions, pointed me in the right direction, even made meaningful small talk with the other customers. You could tell everyone here was really relaxed and happy. Great place to be.

They had a really cool wood slab table and apparently you could drink 2 glasses of wine from anything they had in the store for a $5 re-corking fee. That’s p cool BC their selection was amazing. They also had precooked, like reheat meals they had made, as well as a sauce AND pasta section. If I could eat gluten I’d eat here every day

Tried this place for the first time and ordered the Italian beef panini. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. The menu said it came with grilled onions, but I got raw onions and raw peppers instead. Nothing like chewing through raw veggies on a hot sandwich not exactly what I was expecting.

That said, the menu looked pretty extensive and the prices were fair, so I’ll probably give them another shot. Just won’t be ordering the Italian beef panini again.

How do you run out of pepper and egg sandwiches during Lent on a Friday evening at dinner time, 5:30? Thought I would try a new place I hadn’t been to for pepper and egg. Ended up having an Italian sub that took a long time to make (store not busy) and not much taste. Ended up not eating it. Waited for my wife to finish her combo then went to Portillos’s where I was able to get my pepper and egg sandwich. By the way. I called Frankies earlier in the week to make sure they were making pepper and egg sandwiches. So much for Frankies. Regarding question below. No wait for a table but seemed to have taken a long time to make my Italian sub.

Always a good place for lunch. The people making your food are always nice it does help if you know what you want a head of time. But if your not sure they are ok with you asking questions to make sure that you have the best food. The lady’s at the register are also very nice and helpful even when they’re busy for lunch. I walk with a cane and they’ve helped me with my meal to where I’m going to sit down and eat they bring it for me cuz they know sometimes I have issues with carrying my tray. They may not all be family but they sure do act like it and everybody gets along and it’s just great they atmosphere is welcoming and warming. I cannot say enough good things about this deli. I found out about Frankie’s from somebody who used to live two blocks away and I’m so glad he told me about them cuz now I have a menu at home and I try to go through the menu and cross off things that I’ve eaten there and then see what else I want to try so each time I go I try to have something new and I’m never unhappy with what I get.

For my first time coming to this place I thought it was good. I didn’t really know what I wanted. I went with the cold Italian sub. It was pretty good but it was lacking the hot garadinera. I dont even know if they have it, but I assume they do. It was never offered like most sandwich places do.
