Stopped by on a Saturday around 11:45am and was seated immediately upon arrival. Restaurant was 70% full. Overall atmosphere was very good with a moderate noise level. Started with very tasty cheese curds which were served hot and were very good but quite filling. Clam Linguine was served hot and was fresh and tasty with perfectly cooked linguine noodles. The Halibut Fish and Chips was served hot and was very tasty with a very good texture; however, the sweet potato fries were very disappointing because they were not at all crisp. Service was excellent and overall we were quite pleased with the food served. We will be back.

JJ’s Fish House Review — Soup-seeker edition
I came into JJ’s Fish House absolutely dying for some soup — the kind you wrap your hands around and instantly feel revived. What I got was… good, flavorful, and very robust, but it definitely leaned more “seafood stew” than “cioppino.” It was thick, almost too thick, and missing the broth I was craving. And just to be honest, what arrived at my table looked nothing like the cioppino photo featured on their website. Don’t get me wrong: the taste was solid, the seafood was fresh, and I still ate every bite. I just wanted that warm, soupy comfort I’d been dreaming of, especially on a cold day.
What really threw me off, though, was the customer service. For the prices here, I expected a bit more warmth — maybe even a smile that traveled all the way to the eyes. Instead, walking in felt like I’d interrupted a group of friends mid-hangout. They offered water and did the basics, but there was no genuine greeting, no eye contact, and no real engagement when taking my order. The kind of stuff that makes a meal feel welcoming was noticeably absent.
Bottom line: The food tasted good, but the experience could be so much better with a little more hospitality… and a lot more broth.

The food and drinks are okay… We had the cheese curds, oysters on the half shells, and BLT are pretty basic, nothing excellent and worth coming back for. The Steamed Clams has soooo much butter that the clams were basically swimming in a butter pool…

We were visiting the area for the first time and looking for a seafood restaurant. This was recommended. It was close to the water and the ambiance was nice inside the restaurant. There was construction in the facility so a little noisy. I ordered cioppino which is my favorite. It was hearty and delicious. My husband ordered the fish taco. It was his birthday and he had a free tiramisu. The staff were nice though our designated server was preoccupied and other staff member came to check on us and deliver our food.

Food is good and everything is wonderful. Late summer sunsets really have that golden, mellow vibe — warm but with just a hint of crispness in the air. Sitting outside to soak it in feels like the perfect way to pause and enjoy the season.

JJ’s Fish House was a great experience. The oysters were a wonderful selection, showing a perfect balance of salinity and sweetness. For the entrees, the cioppino and the lobster rolls were both absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was lovely, especially the cute view of the water where we watched teenagers gathering before their homecoming dance.

Seafood heaven at JJ’s Fish House in Poulsbo The prawn linguine was creamy and packed with flavor, the cioppino was loaded with fresh shellfish, and the fish & chips were crispy perfection (bonus points for the sweet potato fries). Portions are huge, service was super friendly, and everything tasted so fresh. Definitely coming back here again!

We have been here several times before & every time Brandon, has been an excellent waiter! This time we got the cod fish and chips; the fish was great, not too breaded and not very greasy. My friend ended up getting the cod tacos, that were also very good. We will be coming back again soon. Very nice outdoor seating. Dog friendly establishment. Perfect for spring & summer time.
