As soon as we opened the door the VIBE was there. My first instinct that kicks in when I walk in a resteraunts is smell…. I could smell breakfast!! I forgot our waiters name but he was so attentive and from Hawaii as well.
The drinks, food, atmosphere and music was superb. Felt like I was back on the islands for a hot sec lol. We will be back.

I sat down had a beer and a locomoco and it was very tasty and if I lived in this area I would be here more often for brunch and breakfast. They did good job with the food and I enjoyed very good service. Food is made to order and it reached me piping hot. I really enjoy my food. And they all just seemed like cool people. When I asked about a certain dish they were honest and told me they didn’t know. I will be back for sure. Thank you for everything.

I had the wonton soup and my husband had the fried rice.
The soup was pretty bland and i had to add a lot of soy sauce to bring up the flavor.
My husband’s fried rice was great.

We (the 7 of us) enjoyed our time at Kona Kitchen the service was great, the atmosphere was okay and the food was delicious. Except for mine the Korean Chicken was bland it basically had no sauce on it. And i wished the menu offered more Portuguese sausage items or side order. Overall the place was fantastic. And I would definitely come back when I’m that area . Aka I live an hour and half away.

So, I had the Da Kanak Attack. The food was mid at best the wait time was about 20 minutes to get the food which is not bad but the food was lukewarm borderline cold to wait that long for food that not even hot was a problem. The beef tasted like it was cooked days ago. I’m sure they cook big batches of it so it’s not fresh to order but it was like I said borderline cold not sure if it’s supposed to be served like that or not. The Spam and Portuguese Sausage were cut so thin I was like why even give it to me especially for the price they used to give you more meat and it was a little cheaper not by much. Even the mac salad and the rice was lukewarm. The only thing that was hot was the spring roll. The food was not horrible but definitely wasn’t worth the price. I haven’t been here in a couple years and I don’t see myself coming back unfortunately.

People were nice, parking was easy for lunch, enjoyed the music. The Kanak attack was great because I could try so many types of meat. Sadly most of it was severely overdone and dry and without much sauce, each bite was tough. However, the spam was well cooked and soft and the one egg roll was crispy on the outside and soft on inside!
If you are going to overcooked the meats, offer some kind of sauce to offset it.

I am giving them a bit of a pass as they have a sign clearly posted asking folks to be patient as they are short staffed, but it did take 15 minutes from the time we asked for a box and the check for those to appear. The rest of service from ordering to getting food, keeping water filled, was all good and very friendly. Went in and breakfast for lunch. Had an omlet which is my go to, they do the cheese on the outside, toppings folded inside and I found it a little bland flavor wise, and might have done better to change the cheese from the default Monterey Jack. Hash browns were a little more crisp than I like but not burnt or overdone. The rest of the family stuck to more traditional Hawaiian foods and loved what they got so we will give them another try down the road.

Such a warm and cozy spot to grab food! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, definitely one of the nicest in the area.
I ordered a veggie omelette and it was filled with mushrooms, onions, spinach, bell peppers, and cheese. It was delicious! I chose the side of hashbrown and toast, but you have other options to choose from too.
My boyfriend got the BYO loco moco and from the few bites I stole, it was super good. They are really generous with their portions, definitely a lot more rice than I expected. The gravy is flavorful, coating the rice and meat warmly.
I got a side of biscuits and gravy as well, and sadly I thought it didn’t have enough gravy!
Definitely worth a spot to check out!
