The Swan – Kingholm Quay, by the River Nith, with great parking & easy access, open 5 days a week – Wednesday to Sunday. Serving home made good quality home comforts & pub classics in a great atmosphere & comfortable restaurant. With the best beer garden in Dumfries, The Swan is ideal for families. We have a fully stocked bar including real ale & a fantastic selection of wines, spirits, & soft drinks all at reasonable prices. There are lots of special offers as standard on our menu, for example a lunch bundle which is homemade soup & sandwich followed by a freshly ground tea, coffee & traybake. Kids eat main courses for £2.50 Wednesday to Friday lunch & until 6.30pm when dining with a full paying adult eating off the a la carte menu.

Went on Monday 23rd June as it was my husbands birthday. The food was excellenty. I had chicken pakora to start which was lovely. The red sauce was a bit hot for me, but in small amounts was lovely. The Scampi and chips with a side order of onion rings was lovely. The prawn cocktail was nice. The Sweet and Sour chicken was also very nice except that the sauce was smooth with no fruit in it. We didn’t have dessert as we couldn’t fit it in we were so full

I thought i had booked a table on a busy December saturday but i had not booked correctly. The staff member was extremely helpful at fitting the 7 of us in when it would have been much easier for them to turn us away. I am very grateful for this, i nearly ruined the family lunch. Thank you . Service and food was exellent, with a good Vegan menu. Very enjoyable and wasnt that expensive for such a big table.

The atmosphere is quiet and clean. The staff are friendly and courteous.. Good menu selection. There were no long waits for food. Food was well presented and enjoyable. Pricing was reasonable for a meal out. Seems the business is about to change as a “for lease sign” was attached to the building.. A convenient private car park is opposite.

This was an amazing recomendation by our B&B host. The service was really good, there attention to detail fantastic and the food… well the food was simply outstanding.
The seafood tagliatelle was perfection and a great size portion. The Eton mess sundae and the Biscoff sundae were just fantastic. Lots of strawberries on tbe Eton mess one and a large portion of ice cream.
Prices were very reasonable and the portions were of good quantity and on the larger side.
A great meal which we really enjoyed.

An absolute unexpected Goggle find! A very warm welcome followed by being seated in a quiet area.

Prawn cocktail – a very generous serving of prawns with crunchy red onion, cucumber, pepper and lettuce.
Teriyaki boneless chicken served with sticky rice was considered very good.
Main course:
Fish and chips, served in paper reminiscent of the old days (see photos) with the biggest onion rings I’ve ever had! All beautifully cooked.
The Swan is by a river which offered a great way of burning off some of what we had consumed!
Absolutely recommend – it’s just a shame that we had no room for dessert!

Best onion rings I’ve ever had. Other than that, food was alright. Servers were very kind but wait for food seemed a bit much at 45 min, but it was for 7 people. Lovely place.
