We had an amazing martini as well as fried mushrooms and fried chicken. Incredibly tasteful decor, cozy, very fine southern cuisine. Wonderful bartending and serving.

We met some friends here for dinner around 5. We had reservations but it wasn’t too crowded at that time. However by the time we left, it was packed so be sure to reserve a spot. We all enjoyed our food. I think the pasta of the day was the best dish but you really can’t go wrong, we all enjoyed our food. The staff was super friendly and gave great menu suggestions. After dinner we went to the bar behind the restaurant. We enjoyed our drink as well we ordered the blood orange martini I believe it was called. It was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Pleasantly surprised about the charm of this spot! It was a great place for both adults and kids. I love the home-y feel and the mix matched plates and cups. The food was yummy and the staff were very, very kind. I had a steak special and it was delicious!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!! 10/10 food and service. Also it’s like a perfectly curated mix of mixed matched furniture, plates, and cups which is absolutely adorable. The cocktail lounge in the back is also a very cute touch. Will be recommending to others and coming back!

Cute little place right off of 17 before the turn on Maine towards Kiowa and John’s island. We ordered then Salad with shrimp and it was gigantic. Definitely good enough for 2 people. Had the French Onion Soup, which I felt was a little salty. But I try not to eat too much sodium. The the waitstaff was very friendly service was very good. The food was promptly delivered hot when it needed to be very attentive. Prices were very reasonable for what you received. The restaurant has a very cozy feel to it. Even though it’s near a busy intersection, it feels like it’s somewhat removed and it’s a quiet little place.

The name would suggest that this restaurant is near the Angel oak but it is not. It’s about 20 minutes away. Despite that, the food was amazing. The staff was great and friendly. I loved the quirky atmosphere from the mismatched chairs and mason jar glasses to the fresh flowers on the tables. The menu offered great options. The carmelized bacon Brussels sprouts were delicious as was the Mac-n-cheese.

Found this restaurant while driving and so glad we stopped! Amazing food and service. The fried shrimp and fried chicken was just what we were craving! We were so full with dinner but could not resist the beignets with chocolate sauce that we took out. We did not have reservation so had to sit outside which was pleasant in the daylight. But was a bit dark once the sun sets till the security flood lights came up. Would be nice to invest in some outdoor lighting 🙂 Some parking at the back but can a bit tight for large pickup trucks. There is also a speakeasy bar at the back.

If you’re driving from Savannah to Charleston via Route 17, and thanks to my wife and Google Maps, we stumbled upon this gem, and it turned out to be the perfect treat on our road trip.
From the moment we walked in, the charming Southern vibe, the restaurant has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff, especially our waitress, were incredibly friendly and attentive, an overall warm experience.
The star of the show—the beignets. As someone who absolutely loves beignets, I can confidently say these were some of the best I’ve ever had. Light, fluffy, and perfectly dusted with powdered sugar, they were an absolute delight. Paired with a cup of coffee, it was the ideal mid-drive pick-me-up.
The restaurant itself has plenty of seating, and the whether you’re stopping for a quick bite or settling in for a leisurely meal, Angel Oak Restaurant is a must-visit.

Hadn’t been here in a few years and iwas the only diner as I arrived right before dinner time, lunch was still being served. Waitress/server was pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient and attentive. Wedge salad could have used a little more dressing, but was very good. Vegetable of the day was asparagus, very overcooked for me, but the filet and potato croquettes were very good. I’m sure I’ll go back.

My family and I (2 adults, 2kids) ate here for dinner! We didn’t have reservations (didn’t know we needed them), but thankfully they were able to get us seated right away. The hostess was nice! Overall, the food was great, especially the fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits! I ordered the fried chicken. The sides were good, particulary the greens, but the chicken was just okay…not seasoned. I gave it to my husband who’d ordered the shrimp and grits (excellent and I wished I’d ordered)! We were thankful that they offered a kids menu and crayons to keep our two entertained. They had shrimp and chicken and enjoyed it. My husband had the blood orange cosmopolitan and enjoyed it.
Our server was attentive and did a great job, but she wasn’t very friendly/engaging (maybe because we didn’t have a reservation…I don’t know. They were also just starting to get busy, so that could be it).
Overall, great meal!
