I’ve dined here a few times for lunch with some friends, and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Esther’s is a chill, local-feel Mexican joint with an inviting, casual space. It has booths, a couple of bars, and tables. However, there is no patio seating. There are also plenty of TVs to enjoy sports with your meal and drinks.
I’ve tried several items on the menu and found them all enjoyable and filling. My recent favorites are the quesadillas, the crispy flautas combo plate, and the crispy shell tacos. The lunch combos are great if you want a manageable meal, but they still fill you up enough to last the rest of the afternoon.
The service and staff are friendly and attentive. They check on us regularly, make sure our drinks and food are good, and clear out used dishes promptly.
I can’t wait to enjoy another meal here.

I think most of the positive reviews must be from regulars. The food here is mediocre, at best, although the thick chips are a nice thing and portions are larger than most. I have also had the common issue where some menu items can be runny. The service is very inconsistent. Sometimes you get good service, other times you can’t get the waitresses attention as she’s hanging out in the bar talking to regulars. The restaurant itself isn’t particularly clean. So many better options out there.

Excellent food and service. Their bean and cheese dip is phenomenal. The staff here are very friendly and make you feel like family. There’s a great and large bar with TV’s and attentive bar staff. The drinks are good and fairly priced and they have a decent selection of beer. There’s also a large bar in the main restaurant where you can drop in and grab a bite quickly. Even when they’re busy they work hard to get you in in a timely manner as well. We hope that Esters is here for many many years to come.

My family has been coming here for almost 20 years. We know many of the servers and usually have great service. We’ve had Laura 4 times now and it ruins our meal every time. She rarely checks on us we usually have to track her down or get someone else to help us. If the food wasn’t so good she would cause Esther’s to lose a customer. When we come back we will make sure to never sit in her section again.
The food is always fantastic, I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I’m never disappointed.

I came with my mom and we both got something off of the lunch specials(during the given lunch specials hours)waters and a small bowl of tortilla soup. The lunch specials are mid, ¾ of the plate was full of beans and rice. The wet burrito and chili relleno were okay, the plates were nice and hot but the tortilla soup was watery and lacked any flavor(especially for the price). Our bill was $52. The service was great.

Beware of shrinkflation at this location, portions are going down, prices are staying or rising and sides/dips that once came with dishes are now additional charge. Been coming for a while as its local and tasty, wont be returning after tonight.

I had the pleasure of dining at Esther’s Taco in Placentia, CA, and I must say that their chicken tacos are absolutely outstanding. These tacos are so delectable that my husband and I traveled all the way from San Diego just to savor their remarkable flavors. Whenever we find ourselves in the LA area, stopping by Esther’s Taco has become a delightful tradition. The chicken tacos are truly a cut above the rest, and I especially appreciate the way the addition of the yellow chili pepper elevates the dish to new heights. The combination of flavors is simply exquisite. If you’re a taco aficionado like us, Esther’s Taco is an absolute must-visit destination.

Did not bring much of an appetite with me when I had come here for the first time. The flautas were fluffy and crispy; flavored very well. Happy Hour is a must here if you’re nearby.

My wife ate there with a friend and brought home food for me and my son. He ordered tacos, no cheese. Just meat, onions and cilantro and green salsa on the side. The tacos were loaded with cheese and also had a ton of lettuce. I ordered a chicken fajita burrito. A fajita chicken burrito is a large flour tortilla wrapped around a filling of grilled or roasted chicken, sautéed bell peppers and onions, rice, beans, cheese, and often sour cream or guacamole. Theirs had no vegetables, rice, sour cream or guacamole. I would never go here again.

amigos, these are not the tacos that you are looking for. I had to add the table salsa to give this $7+ taco some flavor, though, the server in the bar area was nice.
