I’ve visited too many Mexican taco stands and restaurants to count. Probably the best authentic street tacos I’ve had outside of northern Mexico. Definitely the best in the US. Came across this joint while visiting Texas, and was blown away.

La Morenita serves what I would call true Mexico City style tacos, auténtico estilo chilango, and they are the closest thing to real Mexican street tacos that I have found anywhere in this area.
Everything tastes fresh. The ingredients are top notch, the sauces are incredible, and the salsa is absolutely on point. You can tell they actually care about flavor and quality instead of just throwing something together and calling it authentic.
The shrimp tacos are unreal. I’m being completely honest when I say you will be hard pressed to find shrimp tacos this good within a 100 mile radius. They are that good.
The bistec tacos are just as impressive. The marinades, the seasoning, and the freshness of the meat all come through in every bite. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the attention that goes into making each taco.
