The views from the back deck are beautiful, but walking through the restaurant was disappointing. The building has great architect but the restaurant is in great need of a good cleaning and freshening up. The windows needed cleaning and the doors open to the side kitchen showed dirty mops, not very attractive. The food was ok not great, the sandwich said fresh mozzarella but was rubbery and tasteless. My waitress was very good and the outside views are great, but my lunch was mediocre.

Loved the food, loved the staff, loved the view, but most of all, absolutely love that their River deck is so pet friendly.

We brought our son for his 1st birthday and had the best time. Our server Courtney was absolutely fabulous. Our host (I didn’t catch his name) was also wonderful. We love coming here when we come to Beaufort! Their crab cake special was delicious. We will always be back!

The service was great. We came around 4:30 pm on Friday. We came here cause my grandson had just graduated from boot camp. He is a Marine. His meal was free. Yes, we would return if we came back into town.

We entered the restaurant by the outside deck & were directed to go to front hostess stand only to be brought back to where we were. The hostess was on personal phone & was clearly bothered by us being there & then literally threw the menus on the table without saying 1 word to us. Very rude! Waited 7 minutes to have drink order taken. From there everything was great. The male server (never said name) attended to us & checked on us well & was clearly taking more than his share of the tables but doing a very good job. The manicotti and baked zitti were hot & delicious. We had calamari as appetizer which was cooked to perfection & hot. The sauce with the calamari was excellent. With a new hostess this would have been 5 stars.

Got the almond crusted calamari as an appetizer and it was just okay. The calamari itself was tender but there was no flavor to be found. Got a shrimp panini with pasta salad as the entree. The shrimp was ice cold and the panini was lukewarm and not cooked throughout. The pasta salad was gummy and also ice cold with no flavor to be found. The sweet tea was the best tasting thing at this restaurant. Would not suggest going here even for your dog.

Disappointed in the decor and the food. I expected decor to match the historic story of the building but there was none. If your in Beaufort SC you enjoy historical venues. Canines will be a disappointment.

After we were seated a young woman came and took our order within minutes. Our food arrived about five minutes later and it was disappointing! I ordered the chicken salad panini and it was accompanied with French fries. The panini wasn’t toasted or warmed and the chicken salad was very dry. The chicken salad certainly needed mayonnaise or similar to fix it. I sampled the fries and they were so over salted it made me choke. My companion ordered a salad which was like a salad you get at most places and it lacked anything to make it visually appealing. I placed my dinner in the middle of the table and it must have taken 20 minutes before the waitress approached. She asked if there was a problem and I explained it in detail asking that the order be removed from the bill. The waitress said she would have to ask but she returned after a very short time stating that the meal would be removed from the bill.

The speed of the approval to remove the meal from the bill made it appear to be a common request?

Left Paninis and went to the Hearth for a fabulous meal.

We had a present experience at paintings tonight. We both ordered Mediterranean salads. The small version, but I also added a side of meatballs, the meatballs were very tasty and flavored, very well. They were firm, but not tight. The sauce that was put on them were very good. The salad I had in my dressing put on the side so as not to saturate the salad, the salad was very good and it was a large portion for a small salad. The 2 items together did really well. But at the beginning of the meal, we asked for some bread and some Olive oil and our writer was very accommodating and brought the bread and Olive oil out. However, we didn’t get a plate or a bread plate or anything to kind of put our bread down on, so there was that outside of that the ambiance of the place was kind of nice a little hollow sounding, it would have been nice to have a lot of music. And the one was good, I very recently priced on the menu. We’ve been to some other places on Bay street. Where you end up, spending 50 or 60 or maybe even $90 on a meal or here tonight’s meal was only around $45 for 2 of us. Anyway, it’s a our recommendation. That’s a good place to bring your friends and family. How they do make hard fired pizza here with dry understand is very good.

The view outside is amazing. You can see the water, boats and the bridge. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. It was a little rubbery and the batter was sweet. Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either. For the main course, I selected the chicken panini with red peppers and pesto. This was amazing. The pesto was the star of this dish mixed with the red pepper. Strips I also order the she crab soup. It had big chunks of crap and a good flavor. I think it had nutmeg in it, which gave it a unique flavor that was delicious. We sat outside, which I would not recommend. We had birds dive bombing us. One even landed on my daughters pasta. The waitress was great and exchanged it for a fresh dish. If you go I would recommend sitting inside to avoid the flying bandits. Overrall, I would recommend going it was one of the best meals we had in Beaufort.
