It’s tapas. It’s shared dishes. It’s fun.
The food is higher end of quality, portions are smaller, as they are meant to be ordered and shared so you should order multiple dishes. The staff is pretty good on recommendations.
Things that stood out. The tomato on bread and tomato on bread with fish. Fantastic. The potatoes also great. The tin can of mussels was also scrumptious with these thick homemade crackers.
The place is cozy. The outdoor area has heat lamps and a barrier to enclose it.
The bad. Parking. This strip of silver lake can be tough. It’s street parking, metered parking, or neighborhood. Pay attention to parking signs.

Very cute spot for a group or date night; food and service were both great. We were a large party and had a Prix fix menu made for us, not sure if this is something they regularly do, but everything we had was delicious. Highlights were the pan con tomate, confit mushrooms, prawns, citrus salad, the olive oil ice cream, basque cheesecake

As a Spanish person I can say this is the closest place from home as you can possible get. Not only for the food but also for the vibes. Sara, the manager is amazing. She was great with us, very gentle and welcoming. I would definetely come back to have a bite of Spain. Patatas bravas were the best and if you wanna try real ibérico ham this is the place. Can’t wait to be back. Also desserts are great. Viva España

Really cute Spanish restaurant with great service located in the heart of silverlake. I had a great dinner with friends. Food menu is really good as well as their drink menu – plenty of wine options and vermouth. I especially enjoyed the jamón ibérico, gazpacho and gambas

We sat outside and enjoyed a few drinks. The service was very good, and the lady who took care of us was friendly, fun, and helpful. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The outdoor seating was quite comfortable as well, especially since the surrounding area and the nearby road were not too crowded.

Bar Siesta in Silver Lake, from the same owner as Botanica, offers an exceptional dining experience. It was easy to get a reservation, and I went with friends from Argentina and Spain who are now based in the U.S. The food was outstanding—thoughtfully curated, not overly oily or salty like in many traditional Spanish dishes. We tried the ventresca (tuna belly) served with mojo verde, a vibrant Canarian-inspired sauce, which added a delightful spicy punch. The tortilla, served with aioli (a surprise even to my Spanish friend), was perfectly executed, as was the pan con tomate—warm, crispy, and flavorful. The clams toast was a standout with its bold, complex flavors, and the locally sourced beans from a family producer were a lovely touch. Dessert was just as impressive: the olive oil ice cream with a hint of coffee liqueur and the almond cake were both refined, not overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Everything felt healthy yet indulgent. The ambiance is perfect for a casual drink or a full meal—especially on the terrace. I’m already looking forward to coming back in the spring to enjoy it all over again. Highly recommend Bar Siesta for those who value flavor and quality over heaviness or excess!

By far my new favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. Everything from the food, to the service, to the beautiful restaurant itself is incredible. We’ve already dined in numerous times and will continue to recommend it to all our friends. You simply MUST order the Trumpet mushrooms confit – they’re amazing.

The energy and vibe in Bar Siesta made me feel like I was back in Madrid! The meal was fantastic. I especially liked the Tosta de Almejas (clams, fennel, and sofrito on sourdough), Matrimonio (pan con tomate with anchovies and boquerones), Boquerones en Vinagre (the zest made it exceptional), Patatas Bravas (which were the best I’ve ever tasted) and the ensalada de achicorias. For dessert the Helado de Aceite with Pedro Ximenez was exceptional. All in all we had a fun time and a very memorable meal.
