This review is overdue. I went to this business a total of two times.
The first time was the night of their grand opening (attached a photo for proof), hoping to get ilocos empanadas. However, they were definitely not prepared as they didn’t have enough and many others like me were left without them— I’ll give grace for it being their first day. But advertising the business to stay open until I believe 9pm that night, to run out around 4pm I believe? And so many of us waited in line for upwards of 2 hours. I ended up trying plates from House of Silog. They were good, pretty basic if you’ve grown up having that food at home as Filipinos.
The second time I was finally able to get the empandas. But please proceed with caution, this is a health risk waiting to happen! There was only one worker and although he had gloves, he touched EVERYTHING: the empanadas, the brown bag it goes into (each one goes into an individual bag) and then another brown bag PLUS the doorknobs and door from going back and forth to the kitchen then the service area. Not ONCE were the gloves switched out When trying the actual empanada, it was so greasy and honestly could not even taste the flavors of the mung bean or papaya. It was so bland, and the “crunch” everyone raves about didn’t make up for it.

You gotta try all there bbq sticks. You get to grill them yourself. I got the pork and chicken. Pictures not available. We ordered off the silog menu. Everything looks good.

Drove from alameda to try this street food hub since the one in hayward close down. Drove for 1h and arrived at 7 15 pm there were only three options left and they close at 9pm. Crazy part was there were only a few left and got all of them.
Food was over price for thr amount and definitely wont be going to this place again.
Better to stay away than be disappointed with no inventor.
So if you plan to go make sure to call first or be there at opening.

The empanadas were amazing along with the sisig from house of silog, the bbq was a fun experience having to cook it yourself. Along with that some of workers were pretty cute and handsome. Overall great experience definitely coming back.

Kalye Bites was superb. Great meat, easy to cook and at a reasonable price. There’s someone there to help if you need it. Fun date night and absolutely mouth watering food!

Hi, I visited recently and noticed one of the staff/cashier was eating siomai by the skewer pickup area. Just wanted to mention it since it may not look great from a food safety standpoint.

Me and my wife went here last week and it was bad experience first time going here the food was ok and it was little expensive for what we got we only got 16 sticks and two balut it was over 60$. Not only that they gave our balut to someone else and then I had to ask them where they were and they were like you wanna buy some I said no we already did and the lady notice she gave our order to someone else….also when we ask if they have restroom the guy at the front registered he was very rude about it and said no we don’t have restroom for the public, so we had to look for a restroom for my daughter, but when I ask other stuff they said oh ya we have one in the back and when I told her that the guy at the front said no restroom and then she turn around and didn’t say nothing after that.. not to mention the meat me and my wife ate it was not good it tasted bad and some meat taste like their was sand on the meat, their meat they did not clean them good… I will not go here again it was bad experience for the first time and bad customer service…
