This place is hands down the best Mexican food in Gatlinburg!
The food was incredibly tasty, fresh, and full of flavor — you can really tell they put care into every dish. From the first bite to the last, everything was on point.
What really made the experience special was the top-notch customer service. The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Someone in our group was celebrating a birthday, and they went out of their way to make it fun by playing music for us — such a nice touch!
Great food, great vibes, and amazing service. If you’re in Gatlinburg, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

My experience at Loco Burro Fresh Mex Cantina was pretty chill and enjoyable overall. The staff was polite, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing, which made the visit feel relaxed. The food was good and came out fresh with solid flavors, and the portions were satisfying for the price. The atmosphere had a laid-back vibe that made it a nice spot to sit back, eat, and enjoy the moment. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I’d definitely consider coming back again when I’m in the area. But then again I might not return since they charge for salsa… They also charge a 3% Administrative fee (card fee) that is quite unnecessary.

I recently visited Loco Burro Fresh Mex Cantina in Gatlinburg, Tennessee with a large group, and unfortunately my experience was disappointing.
When my food came out, there was a very long hair in it. I immediately sent it back, and to their credit, the staff did bring me a fresh plate within about 10–12 minutes. However, by the time my replacement meal arrived, most of my table had already finished eating. We still stayed so I could eat, since we were all dining together as a group.
Because we were a larger party, gratuity was automatically included on the bill, which I understand. But when I received my check, I was surprised there wasn’t any adjustment or acknowledgment beyond the replacement plate, considering the situation. I’m a pretty shy person and didn’t initially speak up, but one of my friends politely asked about it on my behalf.
After speaking with his manager, the server did return and provide a comp, which I appreciated. However, the way he addressed me afterward felt uncomfortable and somewhat directed at my friends, as if he was taking subtle shots or expressing frustration about the situation. It created an awkward atmosphere at the table that really wasn’t necessary.
I understand mistakes happen, and I do appreciate that they corrected the food and ultimately provided a comp. But the interaction afterward could have been handled more professionally and respectfully, especially since the concern was valid.
Overall, I hope the restaurant focuses more on customer service in situations like this, because the way issues are handled can matter just as much as the food itself. Here’s our server

The guacamole is freshly made and really good, very refreshing compared to other places nearby. The steak street tacos were delicious as well. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful, which made the experience even better. The only drawback was that for 2 people it was almost $65

There was no wait and it was cleaned very well, I enjoyed the light songs playing. Where my 1 star review comes in was when we ordered our food and it arrived. We got the chips and salsa first, they brought out 2 types of salsa, regular which was more of a watered down tomato flavor and the second which was “spicy” though there was absolutely no spice to it and tasted purely like chili powder. I got the seasoned beef tacos with rice and refried beans, the beef tacos were fine as they tasted exactly what youd expected nothing special. The rice was the flavor of… chili powder. My partner got the Arroz con Pollo which the chicken was cooked very well but unfortunately was bathed in… chili powder and his rice was the same flavor.
I was expecting different flavors for everything we were let down. I mean almost $20.00 per person for it all to taste like chili powder.
The waiter was really nice I didnt catch his name but everyone there for service was really friendly and again the place was clean and it was really pretty Inside.
